Sep. 21st, 2003 10:39 amLast night was the second Melbourne slashers house party. I had so much fun! We got to see "The Reel *NSYNC", The Sentinel, QAFUK, West Wing, Black Books and the Due South bloopers.
Hmmm... I'm not feeling too bad. Considering that I must have had at least 4 wines and OJ's (possibly five) and didn't go to sleep until 2.30am, I'm okay. A little light sensitive, a bit queasy and a bit of a headache, but considering I didn't drink any water last night, it's not too bad.
Okay, let's bold these for easy skimming value. *g*
West Wing - We watched SGTESGTJ, The Stackhouse Filibuster and the Karen Cahill subplot from the Leadership Breakfast. As we speak, Genie is making me a copy of Erilyn's tapes, so I don't actually have to part with them when I return them. (No, I don't know why I didn't think of that months ago either...)
Black Books - Just hee! Such a funny show.
Due South bloopers - Hmmm... I think it would have had more of an effect on me if I could recognise where the scenes fit in. Of course, it was S3/4 bloopers, and I've only seen "Mounty on the Bounty" for that season so of course I wouldn't recognise them.
The Sentinel - Blair! So cute, so touchy-feely. Bad show, but so slashy. (Mind you, that description also explains my love of Smallville and Young Americans. I've never claimed to have taste!)
Popslash - You know, I may get into this fandom, if only for the fact that it makes me crack up so much. (I'm not laughing at your fandom, I'm laughing with it.) I mean, the electrical bulls from the Pop Odyssee "Space Cowboy" song? *rotfl*
Of course, then you've got "The Reel 'NYNC" which proves that the boys are all amusing, confident guys who are just a little nuts, and would make shocking housemates. (I still thin Joey's the sane-est, but that could be because he's behind the camera so much.) Still, watching this, I was laughing through so much of it. Justin's highly camp "I want you" scene at the beginning is a fave, along with Chris's "We're going to an ostrich farm. We're going to pat the baby ostriches. We're going to ride the big ostriches. And then we're going to eat the slow ostiches.". Plus, the Do Run run song was great!
You know, I'm a petty, shallow and superficial girl, so it's not surprising that JC's my fave. In my defense, despite the fact that he wears those red and white striped, extrememly gay pants in the Atlantis concert and that seriously ugly flouro yellow jacket in the Pop Odessee concert, he seems very sweet. NOt quite as crazy as Lance or Chris, but still highly amusing.
Now, if they only wore suits more often, I'd be totally happy. *g*
QaFUK - This is going to be a long rant. Suffice it to say that the UK version has restored my fiath in TV programs everywhere, and that later on today you can expect a long rant on why I love QaFUK, Stuart, Vince and Nathan. And the Debbie alike, and the girl that Vince (Mikey) dates, etc, etc... *bg*
You know the best thing about the slashing gatherings? Getting to see all these shows that you normally would, and getting to borrow tapes from the other slashers. (In my case, more Sports Night and The Sentinel - S1.) Plus, there's always alcohol left over... Officially, for the next gathering, I'm bringing the booze.
