Went to bed early and set my alarm late for a good 9 hours sleep. Woke up an hour before my alarm (a few minutes after my early alarm would have gone off) feeling pretty good, so I got up. I washed up the dishes, I had breakfast, I watched some of the Skithouse that I taped last night, washed my hair, put on makeup, and still made the 7.40am train, getting me into work half an hour early.

I think I may try to keep this up for the next few weeks. Every year, daylight savings comes into affect and I end up exhausted for the next two to three weeks. (I have to wake up an hour earlier, but when it comes to night time I'm not tired, so I stay up just as late.) I'm going to be a bit proactive this year, and try to get my body ready for it before daylight savings hits.

Officially, political leader slash? Freaks me the hell out. I really don't want to have to acknowledge the fact that Bush, Howard or Blair have sex, at all, let along mentally picturing them having it with each other. *shudders* Ewwwww!

Memo to self: check out the Yami no Matsuei fics rec'ed here and the popslash here

Also, Jae's post on what it means to be a member of a community has me thinking. No definite opinions as of yet, well, other than you can be part of a community and still be on the fringes of it. I feel that way about both the slasher and the queer community. I'm certainly part of both. I see, read and write slash, I talk about it on LJ, and I consider it pretty damn hot. I've done as much (or slightly more) with girls than with guys and I'm attracted to both. However, I don't spend hours on AIM/MSN messenger discussing slash plots, I don't write a new fic every week, I don't know all of the BNFs and I don't own any of the DVDs. I've never been to a fandom convention, but I do see slashers in real life. Likewise, I don't go out to gay bars, I'm not dating anyone at the moment (haven't for a couple years, and even that wasn't "dating" dating), I'm not openly "out" at work and I don't attend any pride or political marches. (In fact, I feel like more of a part of the slasher community than the queer one, when I think about it.)
