Best things about today:

1a) Getting through a whole day without having to run through my to-do list with the boss.

1b) Having the boss leave early (for him, at least) at 5pm. Having him out all morning until 2pm.

2) Having a contact at the bank get the discounted interest rate extended for a client. (This was related to the need for the solicitor that I bitched about earlier. Basically, it looked like there was nothing to be done, the solicitor wouldn't do it til Wednesday, and the discounted interest rate would no longer apply.) This meant that I didn't have to face another phone call to an annoyed client, and I also got the extension without having to grovel too embarrassingly.

3) Getting a thoughtful beta back. Will print out and possibly read on the train home.

4) Having six panadeine tablets with me at work. Thank heavens because I really needed them today. And, I shouldn't have left it so long between the second and third lot, because I've just had more but it currently *hurts*.

5) Having [livejournal.com profile] deadspiders around to indulge me in my theorising Jafar/Iago slash. Having her brave the dangerous waters of FFN to check for slash for me. (I still want to have a look at some of the horrors. It's a morbid curiousity.)

You know, I'm generally not this moody each month but this seems to just be a really bad month (and all of you are being subjected to it, so I do apologise). I couldn't believe that I was so happy and relieved about the interest rates that I was close to tears. I don't cry over a lot, but I think even a slightly angsty story may make me blubber at the moment.

Who would have thought that Toby would be my "I'm suffering from PMS and hate the world" icon. It's weirdly appropriate.

Panadeine is good. I wish you a pain-free existence and happy hormones. :)

(*bows*) Thank you for showing me that I'm still capable of being squicked. :) And it wasn't all bad - I did find some very entertaining story summaries. Carpet wanting to take over the world, Jafar saving the city from nuclear war, Iago's thoughts during Return of Jafar in poetry form... It's a wealth of brilliance. :D

thank you. *g* Well, I got through the first day without killing any one, and the cramps are over. Yay me!

Okay, I don't know which of those is more frightening.
