Oh my god! Shattered rocked!

Woke up with a pounding headache and took the day off (it's a toss up whether it's caused by a shockingly bad hangover, lack of sleep or actual sickness, but either way, no way I could have made it through work today). Instead, i caught up on SV. Just as well I took notes through the first three episodes I watched, because otherwise I'd just be sitting here going "Oh my god! Shattered rocked!".
*squeeeeeee*
I'm not kidding. That episode just blew my mind. I don't give SV a lot of credit as a good show because generally it's as cheesy as they come. On the other hand, they do occasionally have good episodes. Shattered wasn't good, it was great. Not one thing that I can bitch about or wish they'd done better. And the end, had me almost teary. (That's a lot coming from me.)
But, let's talk about the other eps I watched.
Perry:
- Interesting that Clark literally didn't hear his parents come in. I take it that was another example of his powers flaring up/disappearing, meaning that Clark probably has a higher level of hearing than ordinary people, even though it hasn't hit the superhearing of future canon.
- Is it just me, or is Clark getting really relaxed about using his powers around the farm? He barely even looks around to see if there's anyone else there, before he uses it to speed through his chores.
- I was reminded yet again that Clark really is a lousy liar. That isn't just fanon.
- On the other hand, Lex is damn smooth. Especially when it comes to shrinks.
- I totally ♥ Perry White. I loved the mentions of "Chief" (Heh. Immediate thoughts of Jimmy! And the future Daily Planet building) and the way he pronounced "Kansasians" totally cracked me up. I am easily amused.
- Clark looks adorable when confused or embarrassed. The face he pulls as the tractor goes flying, totally made me squee.
Relic
- Loved TW and KK in the flashback scenes. Vastly preferred those hairstyles to their current ones. Plus, the kissing scenes were hot! It just goes to prove that it's not the actors that make me cringe at to the idea of Lana/Clark, it's the characters themselves.
- Chloe and Lex's scene was rivetting. Two damn fine actors.
- Lionel said "smoke and mirrors" and I just squeed. Total
celli shout-out! *g*
- Lionel's "intentionally buried myself in work" line was a bit over the top. I completely believed his grief until that moment. Of course, that resulted in me pleading with my computer screen. ("He's lying through his teeth, Lex. Please be aware of this. Please be playing along, please don't believe him!" I'm not sure if Lex listened.)
- Jon Kent is adorable when he's all worried about not being Clark's birth parents. It's so sweet. And I love the idea that the Kents' were actually chosen for Clark! Aw! I ♥ the Kents.
Magnetic
- Well, it started off with a Lana/Chloe date, so I can't complain. *g*
- All through the episode I had to physically restrain myself from making Magneto jokes. Come on, the episode was just begging for them.
- Go Chloe! Thought up a good cover story and she got to kiss Clark. Clever girl!
- Is it wrong that I was actually happy for Lana? It's nice to the girl happy for once, instead of pining and longing. It's rather sad that she's only getting over her parents death because she loves someone else, but it's kinda sweet too. *sigh* You know, the more I watch Lana, the more I want to see her get together with Pete.
- I can't help thinking that Chloe may have been safest in the middle, playing the two Luthors off each other. But since she was protecting Clark, I think she's fairly safe trusting Lex. *g*
Shattered
- *snerk* Highly amused by the start of the episode. I can't have been the only one thinking of the Joker scene from Batman.
- Oh man. Lanning Cook' Identical series is becoming more and more believable as time goes by. Every passing episode seems to make it more possible.
- Clark choose Lex over his family! Aw!
- Lex with the imaginary baby? (I'd call him PapaLex, but it's actually BigBrotherLex, even if I was mentally thinking that he'll make a great dad. *g*) That scene was really sweet. Really damn disturbing, but still really sweet. And, we finally have confirmation on Julien. Obviously, Lex did it and that seriously screwed with his mind.
- Vengeful, "standing by my man" Clark Kent? Oh man, do I love that boy!
- I will bow down and worship MR. I know that boy can act, but man was I impressed. He just... hit the right spot, scene after scene.
- Oh man, so much of that episode just killed me. I loved the end, the morally ambigious Lionel. The scene with the double mirror just *got* me.
- I'm secretly rooting for Lionel to change his mind. He could wipe out Edge, and all those associated with the scheme, break Lex out of the loony bin, and tell Lex it was all Edge's plots. Okay, I'm not sure if that'll happen, but I'd like it to. Or, alternatively, I'd love Clark to break him free, give Lex a chance to get the drugs out of his system, confess his alien powers to Lex and then acknowledge their love. I'm pretty sure that neither options going to happen, but that what fic is for! *g*
I am such a happy SV fangirl at the moment!

Date: 2003-12-01 08:33 pm (UTC)Ummm... I was still reeling from Lex's predicament that it didn't bother me at all. As far as I'm concerned, the fact that Lana will be backing off from Clark is something that I'll celebrate, and consider to support the obvious Clex vibes. (Dude, he chose Lex over his family! I'm still squeeing over that. *g*)
Hmmm... Would you happen to know if there's any happy post-shattered fics around? Well, not "happy, happy, joy, joy", but going to fix this mistake, get Lex out, type fics?

And there's Cleo's manip and Mlle Elizabeth's story Patience on the Challenge Archive. I recced a few on svroundtable, but I don't think many were upbeat.
