Oh man. My icon? So damn appropriate.

I haven't been this upset about a night of TV since I watched the end of S2 Spooks.

First there was the OC.

Ryan! *sobs*

So, we start off by putting Ryan in juvie, having him picked on, then finding his mother, being hurt and humilated by her, and then abandoned by her. He's a utter woobie in that episode, and it's only the incredibly touching end that rescues it from being a total sob story. As it was, my brother and mum mocked me for my obvious emotional investment. It's the second episode, and it's already totally manipulating my emotions, and I'm loving every second of it.

The scene with his mom, when she first returns, and they're standing in the pool house as she tries to convince Ryan to go back with her? Totally got me. The look on his face when he realised she was leaving, without even saying goodbye to him... *sobs*

I love the way that the extremely talented boy, who plays Ryan, is such a great physical actor. The pain and hurt isn't strictly on his face... well, you can see it, but you can also see he's struggling not to show it. There's far more shown in the slump of his shoulders, in the way that he crossed his arms and just folded in on himself. The bend of his head, the slight stoop and the averted eyes in juvie just showed you so much about how vulnerable he was feeling in there. He's just...total woobie.

Then there's the way his face just showed how he felt at the end; how he went so naturally from hurt/shock/stoicism to cautious/pleased at Seth's reaction, and then happy and still hurt when he realises he's staying permanently? And the pleased/weary/exhausted expression on his face in the last scene, where you just know that Seth's gushing like a 13 year old girl over every little thing Summer did, and every minute of that night...? I so ♥ Ryan.

Meanwhile, Seth was delightful. I loved Seth's delightfully honest reaction to the news that Ryan's staying ("That's awesome, man! I mean... that's really awesome.") and his shirts rock. (Yes, I ♥ Seth, too.) And, with every passing episode, I like Seth's parents more and more. (Summer remains a skanky ho, Luke an arrogant rich jock, and Marissa's a spoilt, whiny little girl who reminds me of Katie Holmes... but I love the boys enough to still be utterly thrilled by this show.)

So, it tugged at my heartstrings, but ultimately resolved very nicely. Then, we had Farscape.

John's DEAD!!!

*sobs*

He died!

I know it was a great episode. Rygel was brave and impressive. Crais was a good pilot to Talyn, Stark got some wonderful lines, and Magda Szubanski (sp?) was great. Aeryn was hot, and capable, and sexy, and dangerous, and did I mention hot? And she was in love, and hurting, and being brave. But still...

John died!

I know there's another John, but it's just not much consolation at this second in time. I mean, I would have missed having Harvey around, but John died too, and he did it in a marvelous way, with this wonderful funereal music, and it totally got to me.

This is what happens when you love wonderful shows. They break your heart and make you love every second of it.

So, if no-one minds, I'm just going to be sitting in the corner, sobbing quietly. *sobs*

Summer? Really?!

I have a lot of wrods to describe Summer and none of them are nice (they generally revolve around the theme of cheap tart/skanky ho *g*). She's so... tacky. She has none of the natural class that Ryan has, regardless of the money.

Urgh...

Although, possibly, she'll get easier to swallow after a few episodes. If nothing else, I'll put up with her because Seth's adorable when he's just grinning at her (even if I have no idea what he sees in her).

She really gets better. She is smarter then she is trying to pass for, for one thing.

Well, she couldn't possibly be much dumber.

...Okay, lack of sleep brings out my bitchy side.
