thanks. reading others' thoughts on these characters that are embarrassingly real to me is fascinating, and just a little bizarre.
clark as a father is far too easy to write. he's the good one, the cuddly one, but most of all, the one with the example.
lex as a father is so much harder. it's my story and i want him to be good. but he's still lex, not my original character. he has his ways, a luthor tempered with too many years with clark and a son, whose lives he fears for daily and who he loves more than lionel ever taught him how.
the reason i cringe during stories with lex's declarations of undying love is the same reason my lex is written the way he is. he doesn't say it a whole lot, but you never doubt he loves.
