out_there: A present for my 25th birthday (SGA: Reading Rodney by Celli)

I'm out_there on Dreamwidth now.

If I post, I'll probably crosspost to LJ so no panic.

On the one hand, I adore being able to split the reading/who can read my locked posts. (At the moment, I read a severely filtered version of my FList just because I don't have time to keep up with everyone. I'd rather avoid the filters altogether and just know who I read and who I'd love to read -- since they look awesome and all -- but I never get round to it.)

On the other, the actual layout of the reading page is a choice between monochrome-ugly, complex-layout-horrible-colours, and simple-layout-horrible-text-sizing. When it comes to sneakily reading at work, I feel more comfortable reading black-Arial text on a mainly-white background than a page with lime-green, size 16 subject headers, so I think I'll still be spending most of my time on LJ.

I've just realised how to turn off the DW email notifications -- seems silly to get an email and an message in the DW inbox. But on the good side, the DW inbox give you a whole range of "click here to reply to..." type things.
\o/ It's a bit annoying that you can't forward comments to your email without having them also delivered in your DW inbox, but the DW folks are working on it.

Although at the moment, I'm staring and going, "Wow. There is no way I have the brain power for that right now."
It actually took me about ten minutes to set up my DW layout, but yeah, do not attempt when you're just awake, sleepy, distracted or tired.

Thinking about how Alex, who seems very focused on self-control, probably has a pair of handcuffs that sit in the back of his bedside drawers, and how much he likes the feeling of them cold on his wrists as Michael takes his slow, torturous time.
GREAT AND NOW MY BRAIN HAS BECOME USELESS.

I'm thinking of a light reference, a gentle little teasing comment, but would it work in character?
I think it would, yeah. Sara can totally play it sly and teasing. :D

I just tried to get to your DW at http://out_there.dreamwidth.org/ and it came up as 400 bad request.

And yet, when I log-in to Dreamwidth and go to my journal, it comes up as "http://out-there.dreamwidth.org/"

Aha. It's the hyphen/underline. It's showing differently (even though I'm listed as "out_there" on the page/all other DW pages.
