Mum update

Just got a call from Mum. She's spent a very hot day in Perth, travelling to Mandurah (an hour out) to visit her mum. She didn't have granny's address, and tried to track her down from the phone book, but the printed number is old and the new number isn't listed. (It's very unsurprising. Granny has this way of... sounding enthusiastic over the phone when you talk about visiting, and then being uncontactable when you try to make arrangements. Or not answering the door when you show up.)

So, she's had a hot day of running around, and it's accomplished nothing. She's also come to the realisation that she left with only her clothes, and that she doesn't have a place to stay, doesn't have a job organised, and doesn't have anyone over there she knows. She also got stuck in the rush hour traffic on the way back, and checked rental prices (more expensive than she realised).

Hence, she's decided to come back to Melbourne and move back in with me.

Meanwhile, I'm sick but I've got painkillers and cold&flu tablets, so I'm not feeling too bad. I also bought myself one of those tubes of mashed up garlic, and have been having garlic toast. It's totally killed the sore throat.

(And, I spotted blue drinks, so I bought them for tomorrow night. I *enjoy* a theme.)
