I know why the SN crew speak the way they do. When people are insane enough not to keep pushing, you need to.
Coworker D asks me about the distributions that aren't appearing in a client cash account:
Me: All payments go to the cash account.
D: Only the interest appears in the cash account.
Me: All payments go to the cash account. if the distributions aren't there, they haven't been paid directly in cash.
D: It's says it's a cash payment.
Me: But all cash payments go to the cash account.
D: How can I check that?
Me: Check with my boss tomorrow. It's beyond my level of knowledge. As far as I know, all payments go to the cash account.
Then, she wanders off and her team leader, N, comes over.
Me: If your asking about the X distributions it should have gone to the cash account and it's beyond my level of knowledge.
N pulls a chair up beside me. I look at forms I need to do.
Me: I just spoke to D about this. It's beyond my level of knowledge. You're best to check with my boss.
N: Now, about the X distributions.
Me: It's beyond my level of knowledge.
N: No, I'm sure your a very bright girl, you can work this out.
Me: It's beyond my level of knowledge. I just told D that.
N: So what should I do about it?
Me: Check with my boss.
N: What will he say?
Me: I don't know! It's beyond my level of knowledge.
Eventually, he wandered away, and he'll come and see me about it on Monday. *rolls eyes*
