I hate the world.

Vague nausea + crowded train = unhappy Annie.
Headache + realisation that work is *long* overdue = cranky Annie
...Can I go home now?

Would more Turkey on Wheat make you happy, or just distract you from work you should be doing?

Date: 2004-03-21 02:29 pm (UTC)Well, it couldn't make me feel any worse. *looks pitiful*
And, when it comes to work, I'm not getting much done anyway. *ignores guilty conscience*

Date: 2004-03-21 02:55 pm (UTC)He could hear the repeated clicking of high heels, which meant that Dana was pacing somewhere nearby. Natalie was cleaning the blood off Jeremy's hands and saying something he couldn't quite hear. Isaac was fielding yet another phone call from someone at the studio--probably Kim, since Elliott had called last time.
And the floor was cold.
A pair of legs appeared in his line of vision, and he looked up to see Isaac lowering himself into the chair he'd been sitting in. "It's been an hour," he said.
"They told us it would be at least that." Isaac's voice was raspy. "He's going to be all right, Casey."
"Are his parents coming down?"
"I believe so, yes."
"How were they? On the phone?"
Isaac's paused. "Concerned."
Casey snorted. "I bet."
"Casey."
"I'm sorry," Casey said automatically.
Isaac put a hand on Casey's shoulder. "They love him too."
Casey wanted to argue, but there didn't seem to be much point in it. He shrugged. His shoulder was cold when Isaac took his hand away.
About a million years later, Dana's clicking noises stopped and Casey looked up. She was staring down the hall, her eyes wide. Casey whipped his head around and saw a woman dressed in wrinkled scrubs approaching. He jumped to his feet.
The woman threw her hands up as all five of them converged on her. "Whoa, whoa! Are you all here for Dan Rydell?"
"Yes." Casey cleared his throat. "Yes. I'm Casey McCall, I'm his emergency contact."
"Mr. McCall, your friend has stabilized."
Dana burst into tears. Casey took a step toward her, but Natalie was there first. "It's okay, Dana," she said, grabbing Dana as she more or less fell into a nearby chair. "It's okay. Dan's okay."
Nearby, Isaac was holding Jeremy up as they both laughed.
"Excuse my crazy friends," Casey said, but he could feel the grin on his own face. "We're--we're just--"
"I understand."
"When can we see him?"
"Tomorrow afternoon at the very earliest." Casey started to stutter a protest, but she shook her head. "He's being moved to Intensive Care. He's lost a lot of blood; we replaced as much as we could, but his body has taken a beating tonight. He needs to rest, Mr. McCall."
"Right. All right." Casey pulled himself together. "I'm sorry, I don't even know who you--"
"Doctor Turner."
"Doctor." He took her hand in both of his. "Thank you for saving my friend."

Date: 2004-03-21 03:06 pm (UTC)First of all, there's that reminder that this is just a flu, even if I'm feeling sorry for myself, it's nothing *really* bad.
Secondly, Casey is Dan's emergency contact! Oh, man, that idea is totally making me smile. It's so sweet! (I mean, yeah, practical too, but so sweet!)

Date: 2004-03-22 04:42 am (UTC)Work that has to be done rather than avoided by faffing about on LJ all day = very, very bad.
Poorliness = bad.
Commuting = bad.
Tiny bits of Danny-wallow which I found quite unexpectedly are vvv good, though. Hurrah!
Hope you feel better soon. Are you taking the symptoms to a doctor again? 'Cos this seems to have been going on for a while.

Date: 2004-03-22 08:26 pm (UTC)It's just... weather changes into winter, and everyone coming down with viruses. Still, my immune system is not my favourite entity right now.
