How far away is CT from NYC? I have no idea. What's the travelling options/times...?
CT isn't that far from New York. When I was doing research for one of my stories, I worked out that if Dan lived in New Haven (which is where I've based his parents) it's only about an hour and a half on the train and a little longer by car. A bit like the distance between Melbourne and Geelong or Ballarat. A lot of people commute to New York from CT every day. Isaac does and it wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility that Dan and his friends were going to New York on weekends and during school vacation when they were teenagers. I've always prefered the idea that Dan grew up in CT but spent a lot of time in New York.
