You know that 'feedback for a fic i never wrote' meme, right? (Let's just not mention the ways that I can't stick to that idea...) [livejournal.com profile] wearemany posted feedback for the alternative ending of "Where Have You Gone, Tom Glavine?". Needless to say, [livejournal.com profile] sabine101 never wrote that ending, but it's good for a giggle.

[livejournal.com profile] luthien67, big HP fan that she is, has posted some interesting thoughts on comedy in fic and the way it (isn't) valued. It makes me want to write some highly insightful meta about SN fiction, and the amount of high quality fiction in my little boutique fandom. I want to say something about the way that angst is done well, but the comedy there is done even better; that the best SN fics are the ones that make me hurt (or squirm in my seat) *and* laugh out loud.

I want to conclude it with some nice points about why I'm as happy as a pig in mud in this fandom (happier, even, than in WW or SV. It's like... the happiest I've ever been about a fandom. It's a totally intoxicating feeling.)

But, I'm not a big meta-thinker, so I'm sure you guys can just take the vibes and come to your own deeply thought out conclusions, right?

Me? All PMSy and cranky? Made me drag that old Donna-wip out of abandonment. Huh.

Apparently, when I'm cranky and fed up with the world, that's when I go back to writing WW. Give me a couple of days to get my happy back, and then I'll probably be back to Dan and Casey.

(Although, I have Cassie/Danielle thoughts, too. Yes, I'm getting snippets of AU!SN... and I should probably write it for this week's [livejournal.com profile] sn100 challenge. *nudges [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum* You should, too.)

Cheers! I very much agree. This fandom is extremely impressive, and I'm so grateful.

Erm...well...I do feel inspired by your post, but I'm not very much of a meta-thinker either. When I try, it just comes out as gibberish. Your post made me happy, and I'm glad you're happy in the fandom. "As a pig in mud!" Lovely.

*nods* There is a freakishly high quality-average. I mean... it's the type of fandom where I can read randomly, without fearing badfic. Even in WW, I'm wary of doing that.

When I try, it just comes out as gibberish.

Exactly. It ends up very circular and making very little sense... *g*

*rolls around in the mud a little more*
