Yes, I'm going home now.
Jun. 8th, 2004 05:15 pmOkay, am behind on FList, but that will be remedied much later. Sat the exam and I'm figuring (hoping) I got about 45/70. Should be enough to pass. (Thank heavens!)
Meanwhile, lots of study makes the fic writing part of my brain go weird. I mean, mind you, it's not that I dislike the idea of a Queer Eye/SN crossover, it has a lot of potential: Dan talking to Carson about this years fashions (in women's shoes); Casey discreetly asking Kyan if it really is his hairstyle that makes him "not cool". However, the fact that the idea somehow featured a *straight* Dan, and the eventual pairing of Casey/Thom is reason for me to worry.
(Of course, the idea I had later about SN future fic, set in about eight years time, featuring straight-as-a-die-Casey was very bad. Seriously, y'all should be thankful I'm not sitting down to write Danny/Charlie as we speak. I have this deep-down feeling that I might *just* be able to make it work in that oh-so-very-wrong way. I'm blaming the entire plotbunny on

Date: 2004-06-08 12:55 am (UTC)And, um, I wrote Danny/Isaac. I think I've been banned from the unconventional pairings. (But still, the little voice pops up and can't help asking what young, sexually-confused, possibly-gay teen guy *wouldn't* have a crush on Danny? ...And then I stamp the little voice down.)

So who would you cast as Charlie grown up? *bats eyes*
I don't know. I generally can't cast actors as additional fictional characters... I have trouble finding people who look the way I want them to.
Okay, but Charlie, at 17, is tall and more than a little gangly. (In fact, he's slightly taller than Casey, although Casey won't admit it.) Charlie tends to get a lot of "you're the spitting image of your father at that age"; very similar bone structure and he's been raised by practical parents, so wearing non-trendy jeans/tshirt/jacket combos tend to just highlight the similarities.
He doesn't have Casey's skill with languages, but does have his mother's knack of impersonations. when he wants to, he can do a great impersonation of Casey's voice (on-air and off-air), even though Charlie's actual voice is slightly higher than Casey's and tends to have a slight NY accent.
Charlie is still a fairly serious and observant teenager, although he does have friends and relax frequently. His marks are good, solid, but not as spectacular as he'd like them to be. He doesn't play any sports - partly because it was an act of defiance a few years ago, but mainly because he isn't any good at them. He respects his father, but sees Casey as... well, selfish isn't the word, but sometimes too *focused* on his career.
...Um, no, I haven't been thinking about this at all.
