Wouldn't he get a chance to see stuff that isn't aired/before it's aired?
Consulting with my husband, Mr Fencing, suggests that he *should* have been able to see fencing on the daily feeds. NBC or whoever it was definitely taped everything with commentators (some of whom he knows), whether it was broadcast in the US or not. He guesses that local stations would have been able to pick out fencing if they wanted to do a "local boy/girl in the Olympics" sort of story.
