Did I mention I stopped by the library on the way home tonight? Was in the mood for William Gibson, instead I walked away with 7 books, none of them by William Gibson.

On the good side, Good Omens is in that stack, so I will re-read it sometime. When I do, I can explain why, even though Crowley obviously upsets [livejournal.com profile] tboy, I think that he isn't a tragic figure at all.

No, don't do that, I'm enjoying the way he upsets me! *g*

His love is so flawed! LOL.

You asked for that.

I asked for that, and it made me crack up. *lol*

More than anything else, I'd like to sort out in my mind why I've never felt sorry for Crowley, but I can't do it at the moment because I can't remember enough...

Look, the problem is, it's not really in the book. Not really.

But it is definitely in my head. I can't get through more than a few pages before staring off into space, and wimpering.

I'm re-writing it as I go. Which is not to say I'm not enjoying the read, I am, but...

I'd love to write some GO fic, but fear I'll twist Crowley all out of shape. If he's unrecognisable to the reader, then he's not really Crowley, is he? (frown)

Maybe. Maybe I'll get a better handle on the character, enough to compromise between who is *is* and how I see him. Heh.

Heh. But that's the real trick of a really good fic, isn't it? Being able to convince the readers that the character they see in canon really is the one you see in your head. *g*

Yeah. Dunno if I can. I'd like to try.

I've already planned multiple re-readings, with red pen to scribble notes in the margins next time. Will ruin the book, but I can always get another.

You realise how much that would scandalise poor Aziraphale, don't you?

Don't forget to turn a couple page corner's too. I'm sure he'd hate that!

I don't know why the thought of writing on a book with Aziraphale in it is so amusing to me, but it is.

LOLOL! You're absolutely right *g*. I'll do it, it's the Crowley in me ;-)

(I can't tell my husband either, he'd be horrified. Truly.)

But it's all for the sake of my... art, or smut, or something *g*. Good cause, anyway.
