Read along at home! (Recorded SN Fic)
Aug. 17th, 2005 05:24 pmSo, I did it. I recorded myself reading one From The Ends Of The World, A Postcard. (With only three mistakes/deviations! That's not bad.)
At the moment, it's available here through YouSendIt (6 minutes of audio, 2.84MB, WMA format).
If that link doesn't work, it's also hosted here (because Celli rocks).

Date: 2005-08-17 09:44 pm (UTC)I used work's digital recorder, which was a lot more sensitive than I'd expected. If you listen carefully, you can hear the trams going by in the background.

Date: 2005-08-17 11:01 am (UTC)I don't have any means of recording - at least, not that I know of - so the world will be spared my rendition of Dan and Casey in a girlie, middle-class English accent. Which is a bit of a shame, really.

Date: 2005-08-18 02:08 am (UTC)At SHarecon, (a Starsky & Hutch slash con that a friend of mine runs every other year) we have Bedtime Stories on Friday night. We all gather in the con suite in our pjs and read each other slash. It's a way to get everyone to know each other and introduces people to some fic they maybe have never heard of before. And it's great to lay on the bed (or the floor or the couch) and close your eyes and just imagine the...um, action...as someone reads it to you.

Date: 2005-08-18 02:20 am (UTC)Hee! Shoebox of love. That really is a great description of it. (And, heh, I hadn't thought of it until now but it's a whole visual/audible package of a fic.)
Then, third, to hear it in your cute accent. (I hope that doesn't sound condescending, I just mean that it's cute.)
Not at all condescending. I was the same when Celli posted her read-aloud fic ("Eeee! Adorable american accent! So cute!").

That would be utterly cool. Completely and utterly cool

Date: 2005-08-18 02:35 am (UTC)I'm thinking of recording another fic at lunch today (since I'm using Work's digital recorder). Now I just need to figure out what.
