I have had hours at home today and I could have spent them writing, but instead, I tackled my website. And, yes, I know it doesn't look very different, and it's all text and boring (pretty) pastel green, and that splash page image could be improved1, but I'm still proud of my 4 hours work. It now has frames and is far easier to navigate between fandoms.

But my html skills are as basic as basic gets, so if anyone has trouble with it, please let me know (and I'll do my best to fix the problem).

1 Does anyone know which WW episode that cap (and quote) came from? I know it's the episode where Josh wants to move the press area across the street, and puts the question on the poll without telling CJ (and then gets rightly told off for it). It happened sometime during S1 or S2, but I can't quite remember the episode title. [livejournal.com profile] sparkledark to the rescue! It's "The Leadership Breakfast".

ETA: I've had no luck with finding that shot, but it gave me an excuse to wander through WW caps. I forgot how much I liked Josh sprawled and relaxed, not to mention the leaning against a wall thing that he does so well.

ETA2: On second thoughts, I don't care enough to fiddle with pictures. The splash page can stay in all its blurry glory.

It's not season 1 cause i don't rememember the scene but other than that I can't help *grin*

I like the image, I like the fact that it's from the same ep as the quote (not the same moment, but a few minutes after) but the general bluriness is bothering me. It was made over a year ago so I'm sure I could make something better these days... maybe.

Well, that cuts it down to one season (S2) so it does help.

I didn't even notice the bluriness enough for it to be a worry but i think we all can make stuff better these days if only because its been more than a year of using similar skills and getting better at it *grin*

*nods* Exactly. But it's only bothering me now because I know I won't touch the layout for months (or maybe a year) after this. I'll update with fic, but I won't change the actual layout, because that's *work*.

On the other hand, the picture does have the right feel to it, so it'll be fine. And the new frames give me a way to combat the Yahoo Geocities Advert-frames, so it's a yay all-around.

... and now all the links to your website on all the fics I archived in [livejournal.com profile] snarchive are broken ...

*headdesk* Are they? They shouldn't be. The individual fics retain the same URL and the splash page and index page should be the same.

Let me guess. You linked to the sorkin-fiction page, right? The one page I completely deleted and split into WW and SN?

Bugger. There's always something that gets stuffed up when you fix something else.

Okay, I'll put up a temporary page there, linking back to the main site, because that's easier than trying to edit dozens of fic-posts. But to save this problem in future, probably best to link to one of the two main indexes (especially since now the SN fiction has it's own page and is very, very easy to find).
