'Cause all the Cool Kids (in this case, [livejournal.com profile] slodwick) are doing it.

02. Ocean seafloor, I've been waiting for you. Shine by Ben Lee. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] snarkist
03. How many cabs in New York City? How many angels on the head of a pin? Careless by Paul Kelly. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] starrylizard

07. Do you mean this haunted creep who's set upon weary feet and looks in need of sleep that doesn't come? Barrel of a Gun by Depeche Mode. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] desdema.
08. She comes alone every evening, lights as many candles as she can afford. 500 empty seats along the aisle. No one got this one, but it was Evening Mass by the Williard Grant Conspiracy. Nice song, and vaguely... well, if you crossed Tom Waits with Lowen & Navarro, you'd get this sound.
09. Hey, you see a painted sign by the side of the road... Love Shack by the B52s. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] desdema.
10. It's such a simple thing. I never feel this way. I have nightmares, I have dreams of you gone. Ten Million Years by Black Lab. Finally guessed by [livejournal.com profile] everysecondtues.
11. This is no great illusion, when I'm with you I'm looking for a ghost, or invisible reasons to fall out of love, or run screaming from our home You Are What You Love by Rilo Kiley (or Jenny Lewis). Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] snarkist
12. Staring out, depressed about what words I have to plead. Dear Goodbye by JC Chasez. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] suzy_queue

19. She gave you everything she had, but she was young and dumb. Cherry Lips by Garbage. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] sanitylapse.
20. All around the world statues crumble for me. Fly by Sugar Ray. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] suzy_queue (Which is a song that never fails to make me think of John Shepperd. Never fails.)

I can't believe I knew that many. LOL And somehow I either forgot or didn't know you were a JC fan. *g*

Three out of three, that's pretty good.

And somehow I either forgot or didn't know you were a JC fan.

I briefly flirted with popslash, before I fell head over heels for SN. JC was (and still is) the most attractive member of NSync, and... well, he's hot. And I refer to his CD as The Porn CD for good reason. (Seriously, 75% of the songs are all about sex, dancing or sex *and* dancing. It's fun music.)

Dude, I know. I saw him in concert...twice. And he loves to do literal choreography to his songs. I still have pleasant dreams.

I more than flirted with popslash, I married it and had babies with it and we happily lived in a house with a white picket fence for many years. And then that hussy Gilmore Girls came in, with SGA on her heels, and now popslash and I are merely friends with benefits. *g*

Which isn't to say I'm not utterly delighted that JC's next album should be out this spring.

*snerk* Whereas that's me and SN. And while we still love each other dearly, and SN knows that she'll always have a dear, dear place in my heart, we've agreed to give each other a little space, go back to informal dating where we can see other people.

We both know it's not a permanent goodbye.

When you put your arms around me I get a fever that’s so hard to bear.

Fever! In the morning...

Okay, I'll stop now. ;D

Why yes, I am still alive. *waves*

*hugsback* Nice to see you're still around. And, yeah, I always get that urge, to quote the next few lines of lyrics just to see if I can. *g*

*pets you* Oh, that's so annoying, when you almost know it, but you blank on the details. #15 was Fever (it was just guessed).

*high fives you* Totally is.

It's a Dana song for me, oddly enough, because of the whole "when I grow up, I'll be a lady" verse, which captures her odd combination of immaturity and striving to be taken seriously.

I recognise some of the songs, but not the artists, and I'm not sure about the titles. Is looking it up cheating, if I know what cd they're from and can sing the song?
Anyway - 05. is, I think, 'Plastic Loveless Letter', no idea who it's by; and I think 14. is 'I hate work', again I'm not sure who it's by, but I love the song.
Is 19. 'Scar' by Missy Higgens? I am basing this on hearing it, like, twice, because somehow I have managed to avoid it otherwise, do not ask me how.

I totally laughed when I read Missy Higgins, because the songs sound nothing like each other. But they do have a similar sense of wording, or structure. Like, I get the similarity when I look at the words, but the tunes are completely dissimilar.

Because I'm lazy -- and I like you -- I'll give you points for those, even without the singers. Although really I only know them from Triple J Hottest 100 mixes, so it's not like I'd be able to quote most of the singers from there.

Plastic Loveless Letter by Magic Dirt and "I hate Work" (which, oh, I love listening to, especially after I finished ex-job) by Butterfingers.

Um, I'm not on your flist and was just surfing though, and it's obviously been awhile since you posted this, but I couldn't help but comment because I'm a huge Black Lab fan and no one has guessed it as ten yet. Sadly, I've long since lost my copy of "Your Body Above Me", so I'm not certain which song it is (bad with titles). ^^; Er, yeah.

I keep waiting for someone to recognise Ten Million Years, so I'll give you that one.

I haven't heard any of their other stuff, but a fannish friend put me onto that and I adored it.
