Whuh?

You know how you come across stories and it takes you a moment to realise they are completely, utterly *crack-inspired* and yet, they *work*? I've had that moment today.

First, when reading How the Ghosts Stole Christmas and realising that it's a story that crosses Nip/Tuck with *Due South* and makes it *work*. (Like, really, really work. In a way that had me giggling and chortling and a little horrified, which means it hit the Nip/Tuck vibe well.)

And then, it was Master/Commander slash. The The World Turned Upside Down (which is the fifth part of one of those five things that never happened stories that I adore) by astolat (Shalott). I'm amazed no-one told me Master/Commander had gender-switch MPreg fic that is really, really *good*.

I'm even more amazed that I just wrote the phrase "gender-switch MPreg fic that is really, really *good*".

Hee, I think you might mean astolat... but yeah. Bloody amazing, those stories are. Like, she wrote Aubrey/Maturin in space! and made it not only good, but wonderful. I'm really quite scared of her. :)

hee! That's like a meta-quotable thing, if I was a person who could be bothered to do that! *headesk* ...and now I have to look at the fic. :p
