Hmmm... Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] sinbrat, LJ does seem slow. And some of the pages won't load without refreshing.

Got offline last night, but still didn't drag myself to bed until 11.30pm. Sheesh. What happened to the girl who used to sleep 9-11 hours a night? These days it's 7 hours if I'm lucky. I just need 36 hour days so I have a chance to check out the net, watch telly and sleep during my time off. *g*

Hmm... Yeah, Brian was hurting, but I have limited sympathy for the guy. I guess it doesn't help that Justin's got to be one of the first guys to actually turn down the almighty Brian Kinney (... Okay, what's his surname really? Am I way off-base with that guess?).

Best kiss of the episode was definately the Ted/Emmett. Dude, they'd make such a sweet couple, but I think the creators will milk the relationship for all the comedy they can. Hence, I'm almost cringing for next season.

Ethan? I'm still swooning over the guy, even if he is a corny, melodramatic artistic type! Dude, so cute, even if his lines are cheesy.

Justin? Didn't really bug me. I think I've started to grow immune to the annoyance of Brian and Justin. I'm going to rewatch the first season and see if I can enjoy those episodes on the purely cheesy, smut-driven basis that I enjoy the current episodes.

I hadn't even noticed that they didn't do the Mikey voiceover anymore. When did that stop? (I'll hang my head in shame if they only did it in the pilot. *g*) I really liked the voiceover, and Hal Sparks acting in the early episodes, because you had such a sense of seeing the world through Mikey's eyes. It was more personal and less soapy.

In other news, may go out drinking with friends this evening. Surprisingly, I'm not as thrilled about that as I should be. I mean, I've got the tape set up for Buffy (Dad's promised to tape WW for me in Canberra, and then send me a tape chock full of episodes later... *g*) and there's nothing else I'll be desperately missing, either online or on TV, but still... Just less than thrilled about it. Or, really, just a little thrilled about it... it's a yay, not a YAY!!!.

Hey, did anyone else catch Manchild on Thursday night (BBC comedy with *squee*... Giles)? Any idea why he's listed as Anthony Head, and not ASH? I don't know why, but it threw me for a moment. I've got it on tape, so I'm glad I can go back and rewatch the fun of Giles-as-a-dentist... (or, really, with that accent, it's Ripper-as-a-dentist).

I have limited sympathy for the guy.

How cold can you be? *g* Couldn't you see his heart breaking? Blind, you are, blind.... ;-)

When Ethan said "I can see why you stay with him", was your first reaction to assume he meant because Brian was rich? He'd just shoved Brian's money at Justin, Justin's holding the $100, and then Ethan comments. I instantly thought "You little bitch!", but then he goes and proves how sweet he is by saying "Because he's gorgeous; I don't blame you for choosing him."! *g*

Not blind. It's just a case of Brian reaping what he sows. Don't even try to tell me that he hasn't broken other people's hearts in his time.

Brian's a big boy. He knows that he's not offering Justin a good deal other than a good time, with lots of cash and sex. Emotionally, he isn't there for Justin, and he either can't or won't make the effort to support and communicate with Justin.

I mean, the way those two act, they never discuss anything important. It's all half-masked barbs and "meaningful" sex between them. Even if Ethan's line are as corny as a packet full of corn-on-the-cob, at least he talks. He takes the emotional gambits, and allows himself to be vulnerable, as opposed to Brian and Just who spend so much time covering themselves, and worrying about appearances, that there relationship never has a chance of growing deeper.

Yeah, that was my first thought. I still think I'm right. Brian's everything that signifies success. He's rich, he's stylish, he's confident, he's attractive, he's good in bed (I typo'd and wrote 'god in bed' which according to Brian, is almost true too! *g*).

Ethan proves he's sweet, and observant, while Justin proves that he's not much more sensitive to others feelings than Brian himself. I mean, seriously, was Justin consciously trying to make Ethan feel as if he was wasting his time? ("Yeah, this is my boyfriend. He's rich, gorgeous, successful, great in bed... but you're...hmmm... artistic?")

It's as if he's saying that there isn't any point in competing. And then there's the overtone of that Ethan was just an easy way to have a dig at Brian. (And I hate to admit it, but considering the way Brian and Justin don't talk, seriously sleeping with another guy could just be another way to 'reach out' to the other... *pouts* If they pull that crap on Ethan I'm never going to forgive either of them.)

On a completely different note, I was amused that the Rage boys really did look like Brian, Justin and Mikey. I also liked the cut to the Rage!Mikey during the Rage!Brian and Rage!Justin kiss. Nice touch.

You've hit on the nail - Ethan is a stereotype but still he's a gorgeous character, not just to look at but what he thinks and wants. I can't wait to see him become fully-rounded.

And yes, more Mickey point of view is required. It's his show, not the Brian/Justin show. Honest :)

It's about Mikey? Really?! Let's admit it, QaFUS is the Brian/Justin show, with frequent appearances by seconadary cast members. *g*

I can't wait to see him become fully-rounded.

See, my problem is that I don't trust them. I've bitched about this with [livejournal.com profile] tboy. Once they start to make him any more developed, or less of an obvious stereotype, they're going to screw with his character and try to make him very dislikable. Mark my words, he'll end up being responsible for the eventual break-up, and it'll all come down to something terrible that he's done. (It's the only way they keep the main characters likable - make the secondary characters even worse. They're all fatally flawed...)

Man, this is why I shouldn't think too seriously about this show. It just makes me bitter and cynical. *g*

Sounds like you've turned into me. I pretty much only get about 6, maybe 7 hours sleep a night. There just isn't enough time for everything! *g*

The terrible thing is trying to fit everything in, and it doesn't work, so it's not surprising that it's my sleep that suffers, not my TV watching. *g*

On the good side, there's a long weekend coming up, and I don't have any social plans for it, so I'm planning on sleep!
