There's only so much of Ianto-as-soccer-mom I can take.
*shudders* Although he does drive the SUV, so part of that fits.
Or Jack and Ianto singing to each other.
Ew, no. That should only be done within an episode, and only ifiit's a musical episode, and we get to have Gwen and Rhys singing a fight. Because that would thrill me.
Mind you, I was thinking about his on the way to work (I get bored when my music player is out of batteries). I hate nicknames -- love, darl, the horrible "Yan". Possibly, given that Tosh is canonically Tosh, and not Toshiko, I shouldn't object to fanon Jack shortening Ianto's name, except "Ianto" and especially "Ianto Jones" are such fun sounds to say.
Cariad is a nice sounding word, and I will accept it at a maximum of once per story, and it had damn well better not be in the middle of gushy romantic scene or I'll roll my eyes.
Mind you, you'd think I'd have a higher tolerance to cliches given that canon is cliched. I mean, one partner's psycho ex comes back and taunts the current boyfriend and/or tortures his ex, leaving him vulnerable and hurt? Canon. Hurt/comfort scenarios that involve one person being hurt physically or emotionally while on a team mission? Canon. Unusual use of common, everyday objects in a sexual manner (and some of them used in ways that make your brain hurt with the possiblities)? Pretty much canon. That terrible old slash cliche -- that popped up so much in popslash it almost made me groan -- of everyone being either secretly gay or at least bi enough to sleep with teh occasion same gendered partner? Definitely canon.
I mean, with all the canonical cliches to work with, I just don't see the need to add other horrible ones.
