Aw, Jack is responsible enough not to go crazy-one-man-army on UNIT for Ianto. Somehow, I think that's more romantic. <3333333
Hee. It's an odd strain of romantic concern, but I see your point. I have a big soft spot for practicality and efficiency; big romantic gestures that achieve nothing are kind of pointless and I love Jack most of all when he's look all big-dramatic-pointless-actions but it turns out to be for a sneaky purpose.
This goes to my list of "Favorite fics where Ianto is possessed by an alien" which is disturbingly a lot, now that I think about it, but your story has more warmth than most, which adds to this fic's awesome given the circumstances in it.
