Heroes BigBoom -- Don't Worry cover art
Sep. 15th, 2008 12:05 pmOkay, I confess: William Fichtner has absorbed so much of my head that I spent this morning plotting out a PB AU with FIB-Agent-Michael1 and completely forgot to mention that
hereos_bigboom has gone live. These are the covers I made for
megmetthews20's story, Don't Worry.
1 Michael would be the young hotshot agent transferred to Alex's team to help him bring in Shales. They wouldn't get on too well to start with, and then both Michael and Alex would track Shales to the same location (from different hints, but still it would be hunches they couldn't use to convince any other agent), and together they'd arrest Shales. But Shales would make a run for it, and Alex would aim without thinking but Michael would lunge and throw Alex's aim off so he only wounds Shales. They back each others' stories up and develop trust and work as a scarily smart fugitive-hunting team until Linc gets arrested and Michael tries not to implode. Alex would use contacts -- and a lot of lying -- to get his hands on the paperwork for Linc's case and there would be hiding out int eh country with Pam and Cameron, working through the case and... okay, I didn't work out the end. My trip to work is only an hour long, so I didn't get past the "working out if Linc's innocent" part.
But I'm sure that together, they'dfight crime work something out and possibly take down the company. But weirdly enough, I don't think it'd be slash. (That is weird for me.) Not unless it somehow ended up Michael/Alex/Pam, and threesomes generally don't seem believable to me, given these characters. But there would be cute scenes of Michael teaching Cameron how to fold a crane.
If I'm not singing along to music as I drive or listening to podcasts, these are the thoughts that entertain me.

Date: 2008-09-15 05:00 am (UTC)I mean, I could claim that it's been so long since I've sat down and watched WW that I've blurred, but it's more that odd fannish phenomenon of falling for a new actor and suddenly finding you've seen them in a whole bunch of things but never put it together.

Date: 2008-09-17 08:25 pm (UTC)"You want me to hand over the Shales case?" Alex isn't yelling, not yet. But it's a close thing. "You think some kid fresh out of the academy can find him when I can't?"
"Mahone," Jason Searby tries, and then softens it to, "Alex. Calm down."
"I am calm. I've been up for almost thirty hours," because he'd been close to Shales, he'd been *so* close, but by the time he got to the Middle of Nowhere, Idaho there'd been one more body: seventeen year old girl this time, bled out slowly, still goddamn warm to touch, "but I'm being very patient in the face of bureaucratic idiocy!"
Now, possibly, he's yelling. Just as well he slammed the office door shut when he stormed in.
"No-one's handing over your case," Jason tries again. "And he's not fresh out of the academy--"
"Let me spell this out in terms you'll understand," Alex says, pushing a hand through his hair and taking a grounding breath. "If. I. Can't. Find. Shales. There's no way in hell some kid with no experience stands a chance."
"He's smart, Alex." Flipping open a manila folder, Jason spills the kid's employee file across the desk. Alex only lets himself glance down for a second -- takes in the high numbers of an IQ test, a scrawl of 'satisfactory fieldwork, avoid where possible' and a picture of wide-eyed white kid who'd get carded in any bar -- but Jason notices it. And Jason knows him well enough to know that he might be tired, frustrated and feeling very insulted, but Alex isn't stupid enough to argue against those results. "Smart enough they want him chained to a desk but don't want to say it. And he's not taking over the case. He'll be working for you, as part of your team. He might bring new insight to the case."
"I doubt that," Alex mutters, grabbing the kid's file and stalking out. He takes a vicious pleasure in slamming the door again.
