Still thinking about Glee 4.14

Dear Aussie TV,

Sometimes, your choice of censureship baffles me. Luckily, I read Glee recaps and pick up on the cut lines.

In the version aired, the scene with Quinn and Santana post-hookup is basically:
Quinn: This is why college girls experiment.
Santana: Yes, and thank heavens for it.
Quinn: "So what do we do now?"
Santana: "Well, you can leave first."

And then Quinn puts down the glass and we cut to Artie and Betty.

Anyone else spot the missing lines? The whole mention of "It was just a one-time thing", the U-Haul joke, the offer to make it a two-time thing. It's such a random thing to edit out, amidst an episode that has gay, lesbian and straight hookups, apparently joking about U-Hauls is out of the question.

It's a little like the masturbation line from Blaine in s3 (The First Time). Fandom was all "He said what?" and I was like, "Not on my TV." The rest of the conversation happened, just that line got edited out. Odd.

Also, while I was a little less than impressed with "I Do" at least fandom was there to explain it all. My two favourite episode-related stories were flamingmuse's Opening Doors: Five 'Missing' Scenes from Glee 4x14 and wowbright's Ash and Phoenix.

In an ideal world, I could tap the Glee writers on the shoulder and say, "If you want to show us a character trying to convince himself and being a little bit of an unreliable narrator, please read. If you need a little tutorial in how build-up makes the kissing so much hotter (rather than: oh, surprise, ex-bf's making out!), please read."

I would be fascinated if you Aussies can talk amongst yourselves and come up with an explanation for why those lines were cut.

The masturbation line I get -- I mean, it's a show screened at 7.30pm and there's a general vibe of family-friendly. It's fine to have the Two and A Half Men style innuendo that younger kids wouldn't always get, but actually stating the words might be a touch too far for censorship.

But the U-Haul/one-time vs two-time thing I don't understand at all. If it's a censorship thing, I don't see why it needed to be cut. It doesn't negate the whole hooking-up and it's still a scene where we visually see the two of them lounging on opposites ends of the bed.

It might have been cutting for advertising time, but it seems odd to slice seconds out of a scene nowhere near the adbreak. I don't get it.

I don't have enough Aussie glee fans on my flist/rlist to make a dsicussion, but as I said below, best guess is that it might have been an attempt to increase advertising time (but by 10 seconds or so? Seems silly).
