Fear me!

I'm stuck back at work doing a mailout. It's a two page letter going to 250 clients (total of 500 pages to be printed) so of course the printers give me grief.

Printer 2 won't allow me to cancel an incorrect printing job (leading to about 45 minutes where nobody else can use the printer either), printer 1 won't print from the correct tray on the correct letterhead, and I wasn't using printer 3 at all, but it still printed out a few blank letters.

However, when I mentioned this to our receptionist, she remarked that she found it amusing that no-one had said anything bitchy to me about stuffing up the printers (considering that there's another 4 staff using printers 1 & 2, that's quite something). Apparently, I intimidate the other staff. *beams*

Other LJ's have met me in real life (iibnf, tboy, lilacdeity, sinbrat, hnix, kaneko and charliequinn to name a few) and can testify that I am not particularly intimidating. I mean, seriously, I'm a pale, chubby, 5'5" gal in glasses and a bun, who can't wear heels over two inches high and has a fashion sense that in a combination of comfortable, conservative and lazy. I don't exactly inspire fear in people. In fact, I believe I was described as "cute".

I can't help wondering just why they're intimidated of me. Possibly it's just a case of I get a little cranky when sick (and I have been sick a bit the last two weeks), but still... I feel very proud of myself.
