I have to work to be paid? Really?
Jun. 26th, 2003 10:10 amTried to call mum last night but couldn't get her. Surprisingly enough, she calls me this morning. We ended up talking for about half an hour and in a totally unrelated occurance I was half an hour late for work. *g*
In mum's defense, this wasn't due to her. It was due to me :
a) not liking the lipstick I was wearing, and having to find one I liked. Considering I own all of six lipsticks (hot pink *shudders*, red, garnet, peachy brown, bronzy brown, and a brown-maroon colour) , you wouldn't think it would be hard to find. I must admit though that I'm highly amused that my hot pink's called "Gay Crimson" *g*. The trouble is I'm wearing fairly strong eyeshadow (mint green and aqua, go ahead and cring, but it's colourful and cheery) so a strong red/garnet colour makes me look like a clown, and my browns made my lips look too pale. So, yay for the old brown-maroon. *g*
b) not being able to find the black sparkly flower hair clip I wanted. I'm wearing a black suit, black boots, black coat, green skivvy and green scarf. The black clip would have looked good but I couldn't find it anywhere. Instead I settled on a green hair tie. Dude, colour co-ordination is my friend.
c) me finding out that my asthma didn't disappear when I moved out of Canberra. I think it's just caused by the cold and the mornings here have been icily cold the last few days (ie, my breath can steam up my glasses). Hence, running for the train, I nearly gave myself an asthma attack. (I have yet to actually have an asthma attack. I just get short of breath, my lungs/throat burn and I can feel my pulse pounding, so it's still not pleasant.) So, I decided to stop, get my breath back, and watch the train take off without me.
All in all, if just one of those things hadn't happened, I'd only have been 10 minutes late. *g*
On the good side of things, even though I forgot my book and my breakfast, and my snacks for today, I'm going out to lunch with
charliequinn today. There's very little that lunch with a cute/slasher gal can't make up for. *g*
Now, I'd better see if I can get something done before lunch...
