posted the first chapter of the thing I'm working on, even though that is not my usual thing and seems kind of risky considering I don't even know how it ends. But... I like it and I guess failing to finish a fanfiction is objectively not all that big a deal?

It's honestly not. I'm... a bit old-school about posting wips to AO3. I used to post wips to LJ/DW and then put it on AO3 once completed/betad, and that habit hasn't left me even though I don't post wips to DW much these days.

Still, that's a great word count.

Day 5: Another couple of alibi sentences, for a total of 110 words. The consolation is that even with just a few sentences a day, at some point I will have a full draft. At some point...

That's true. If you just keep adding words, eventually there will be a draft there.

Day 5: Probably a thousand+ words that wavered between fic and outline as I wrote out what could I suppose be considered a draft of a fic I've held in my head for most of a year. (I typed it straight into discord and I don't know if I'll pick it up and make it anything more proper, though I could...)

Days 4 and 5 have been mostly trying to get past some amount of not having words flow freely, but it does feel like progress. It's just being very slow with me.
