Summary:

A close rewatching/analysis of all 50 episodes of The Untamed, with heaps of images and around a 50-50 mix of angst and laughs.

As of February 2022, I've posted rewatches up through Episode 30 over on Tumblr, so now I'm working on crossposting all of that here while I continue making new posts every couple of weeks. Once I've got all the crossposting caught up, I'll put up the new posts in both places as I write them.

It's a detailed review of each episode with gifs and images, and it's both humourous and insightful. I've been really enjoying it on tumblr, but tumblr is terrible for finding old posts -- so I'm really pleased it's being crossposted to AO3.

If you like the Untamed and would like to revisit the show without sitting down to watch all 50 episodes, enjoy!

I love reading those review/recaps on tumblr - always so entertaining! :D

I am questioning whether it's safe to post all those screencaps to AO3 though. Isn't the content there supposed to be transformative works? Just wondering for copyright purposes...

I just started reading an Untamed fic, which is always funny because I only know what I know from osmosis, so I'm completely unable to visualize 75% of the cast. Still fun! (varnes just finished the Sound of Music AU.)

Hi There!
I've come to your journal through the interest search, since I've been reviving my DW journal and always like to make new friends in my fandoms. :D
Your name actually sounded familiar and when I checked your AO3 I was transported back in time to BBC!Sherlock. XD I've read several of your earlier fics, and I especially love "Let me kiss you" and "The Whore of Babylon", OMG, I don't know how many times I've reread those back then. But I was shy and didn't really comment most of the time, which, now that I'm actually posting fic myself, is like... comments are the best things, I should have commented on everything! T_T So take this as very belated ♥♥♥♥♥♥ comments on your Sherlock fics! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

That meta/recap by canaray3d is so awesome! I've seen it on tumblr and it's huge fun to go through the show again in this way, focus on a lot of the details that pass you by on first watch or even on rewatching. I'm so happy these are getting posted to AO3 now, so much easier to keep an eye on them.

I've been doing the 31 Days of The Untamed meme to get back into journalling. IDK, I've just been missing the old Livejournal days and how nice it was to connect with fans then. Of course, there was wank then, too, but overall I managed to stay away from that, so the memories are mostly positive. On tumblr, it's much harder to make connections or to discuss something. And I've never gotten the hang of twitter. XD

So yeah, just wanted to say hello! :D

As a reader, I get self-conscious about leaving comments, about them being only a line or somehow "not deep enough" and as a writer? I'm thrilled by a comment that's only "<3!" or "This was great!".
Exactly! I want to leave thorough comments but not always have the time or I'm not in the mood etc. So I kind of force myself to "just" leave a short comment because I now know that, though super long comments are the cherry on top, all the shorter comments make up the lovely cake. XD

The timeskips in CQL are sometimes really weird, and especially in Yiling the audience has not real clue how much time has passed. I'm currently watching Legend of Fei and I feel like there must be several larger time skips in this story, but they don't have any info displayed on the screen and there are very few indications in the subtitles (either they don't translate it or there's truly no info on that). *sigh*

I will say that Tumblr is great for fanart and getting that sense of enthusiasm from fandom, but you can't have the same rambling discussions.
Tumblr is perfect for all the pretty. XD But following a conversation or getting back to something is almost impossible. I have never tried Discord, some people are super enthusiastic about it and others say it's even worse than many other social media sites, sooo.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But the timezone thing is really a problem for many fast-paced sites like tumblr! I often feel like I'm missing out. Sometimes, it's kind of fun, like the whole November 5th meltdown, which I saw on Nov 6th in all its glory. XD
But overall, for discussions a journal style site is better. I'm active on some German message boards that are still going strong even after all these years - but they have specialised in topics (horses and tv/media, respectively) and I guess that might be a reason for that.
