First off, as much as I love the public transport system in Melbourne, I currently love taxis more. Not only was the train home delayed by 25 minutes, it went express past my stop! (I know that some of the trains do go express past my station and the station before and after it, but normally there's at least some announcement of this fact!) So, I got off the train three stations away from home, and found out that the next train towards the city that wasn't an express, didn't leave for another 50 minutes.

Hence, I got a taxi. And, it only cost me $12! Considering it costs me just under $5 to go to my station from home, I'm very pleased by this.

I went clothes shopping this evening and spent $200 over three hours, which I'm pretty pleased with. I bought:
- 3 pairs of slacks (After trying on about 15-20 pairs of slacks, I got navy, chocolate and black all in the same style)
- 1 really funky, water green (part lycra) stretchy shirt. I normally avoid shirts like the plague, but this one was a really pretty colour and fairly flattering cut.
- 1 really funky Oriental flavoured red top. It's got long sleeves with those corded button-clasp things, and a stand up neck, and it rocks.
- 10 pairs of socks, including one pair of Luthor-purple socks. (I didn't find out they were kneehigh until I got home. Heh)
- 5 pairs of cotton hipster undies, which are the only good thing to come out of the entire hipster craze
- 2 pairs of pantyhose (one without toes!)
- 1 bra (the most expensive item on the list, but worth it. I've got one oft he same brand that's more than a few years old and needs replacing. I forgot how comfy it is when new... It's a Formfit "Sweater Girl" if you're curious. *winks*)

So, that's a total of 23 items for $200, so I'm pleased. Plus, I spent all day in one red sock and one green sock because I couldn't find a matching pair this morning, so some of this stuff was pretty necessary.

It makes me glad I don't work in the city. I work just far enough out that it's a lot of hassle to go shopping at lunch. Otherwise, I'd spend more on clothes. I forgot how much I like clothes. I don't like most of the fashions, but I like the colours, textures and some of the groovy designs. (Not enough to put some effort into loosing wieght to look really good in them, but enough to spend when I shouldn't.)
