Rob Lowe may be joining Arnold Schwarzenegger's California campaign. This is the most amusing news I've heard all morning.

You know, now I really want Arnie to win. *g*

(Finances are a big thing in this campaign, so Arnie's choice of economic adviser would have me supporting him anyway.)

Hee!

Care to explain your opinions? I'm curious.

Heh. I really don't have an opinion, but I have plenty of mockery for Rob Lowe. Maybe he's doing it just to annoy Sorkin and Marty?

Fair enough.

It amuses the hell out of me. Rob Lowe just played a character running for politics in California, and now he's supporting someone else...

I'm easily amused.

The more I read about Arnold's lifelong-held stance on issues, the more convinced I am that he's a closeted Democrat. And Rob Lowe has long been saying he doesn't feel a strong need to affiliate himself with a single party, Dem or Republican. (He's been personally burned by both in the past.) His actions seem to identify him as a social liberal and a fiscal conservative.

While I don't think there should even be a recall in this case, I also don't think that being a movie star precludes someone from having political ambitions, and if they're serious about governing, I'm willing to hear what they have to say.

I'm just grateful that R. Lowe waited until he was a "private citizen" again before getting involved with stumping for candidates. It shows a definite lack of self-importance I find absent in every other WWinger the last few years. ;)

Aska Riley, this is the most intelligent assessment of the situation that I've seen said so far. May I link to your post? :)

Hiya Aska! Thanks for commenting. *g* Trust me, my knowledge of politics is superficial at best, so it's nice to hear back from someone who obviously follows it a bit more closely than I do.

Well, a lot of politics seems to be a combination of appearance and knowing the right people. As far as I can see, Arnie seems to be serious about it. Even if he doesn't have formal political training, he seems to be employing people who have the necessary skills and knowledge. To me, that's a highly practical way to succeed.

Heh. Suddenly makes me glad that I haven't really followed the other WW cast (outside of WW, I mean).

Annie, I love your writing, which is what I came here to tell you.

*beams* Thanks!

Yeah, it's funny what you'll stumble across when you're searching for something else entirely. ;D
