The quiz result made me forget what I was going to post! I came across this quote in today's Sunday Herald, in a little article about Jason Isaacs. The article was supposed to be about him in the new Jackie Chan film, The Tuxedo, but actually spent more time talking about his experiences playing Lucius. It just made me giggle.

"Malfoy is a slimy little sod, so painfully unpleasant. I play him very gay, very high camp I mean, and I bully my son really badly," Isaacs says.
"I have waist-length blond hair, a fur coat and a big walking stick. You can't play that small or straight.
"I had a ball poncing about in funny clothes and putting on a silly voice."

On a completely different topic, does anyone else find themselves suddenly dropping those personal pronouns in LJ entries. It's no longer "I saw", "We found" or "It said", I just automatically type "saw", "found" and "said". It's sad that I haven't even finished my course and my grammar is already deteriorating.

Looking at the clarity of Slodwick's icons, made me consider using another image program. I was using Adobe Photo Deluxe (Home Edition) but every time I shrink an icon or save it as a JPEG file, it blurs. So, I thought I'd give Ultimate Paint another go. Te suggested it ages ago, and I tried it, but I didn't have enough experience and found it pretty daunting and confusing.

I downloaded it again tonight (last night? this morning?... A couple of hours ago) and played around making icons to match the quotes from that quiz. Well, I've already got three icons, so if anyone wants one, they're free to a good home.

Since we all know how reliable Geocities is when linking directly to picture files, why don't we all same time and check them out here.

I can't believe it's 7am...

Quick couple of Angel recs by Jennifer Oksana (who I always read as "Jennifer Okaa-sama"... proof that anime can rot your brain!)

How To Make Yourself A Monster is a young Lilah piece that rings so true it's scary. Wonderful characterisation and a lovely twist between truth, lies and honesty.

Wishing To Be Snow is officially how I want next season to go. I love this Cordy; self-aware, regretful, optimistic and not pulling any punches. (More tactless Cordy of Sunnydale High, than the St. Cordelia of L.A.) Very nice.

Personal ramblings. Highly self-indulgent... )

More recs...

Themes And Leitmotifs is a great Wesley-centric piece as he reflects on loves and losses. Lovely hopeful ending.

An Introduction is an interesting look at how Snape became a Death Eater. None of the usual stuff about being coerced by Malfoy, or pressured by family or house expectations. The idea that it actually started out as a bit of a political movement, and actually had a good deal of popularity, rings fairly true for me. (True as in believable and understandable, not true as in what HP canon actually suggests.)

Under Pressure is a Percy fic that just made me feel for him. Great way of catching that youthful desire to be responsible and handle everything yourself.

These walls are paper thin. I have two words for you. Dilbert. Slash.

There are some fics that make me love Martha deeply. Cotton is one of them.

That is all. I'm off to watch TV.
