I'm still off sick. Click here for wonderful details about my doctor's visit! )

Anyway, I still have that assignment to do, will do it tomorrow. (My basic motto in life always seems to be "never do today what you can do tomorrow". Not practical, but more fun...) Figured I'd test my computer resistance by getting online and answering the drabble challenge... don't think I'll be on too long.

There's a kids TV show on ABC at 5.00pm weeknights called Lizzie Macguire. I stumbled across it yesterday. If Adina really was a girl, and we got a shot of her teenage years, she'd be Lizzie. I'm not kidding, there is a really strong resemblence, (especially when she wears her shoulder length strawberry blond hair partially pulled up). Check it out [livejournal.com profile] tboy and tell me I'm not going nuts. *g*

Will post GO thoughts in a little bit...

1. What does your first name mean?

Annie - derived from Anne meaning graceful or full of the grace of God. Considering how clumsy I was, and still am...? Heh.

2. What does your middle name mean?

Lee - Meadow

3. What does your last name mean?

Not a friggin' clue... (And after checking on the 'net, it's not common enough to be listed).

I'll take a guess and say it's probably the direct phonetic meaning of "grey stone". (It's either that, or it has something to do with a town in Burgundy, France, or a modern version of an Irish name.)

4. So what does your name mean when put together?

Graceful meadow filled with grey stones? Grey stone in a graceful meadow?

5. What would you have been named if you were the opposite gender?

Considering I was going to be named Lee anyway, I think it would have applied for either gender.

6. Any other name oddities?

I was going to be named Lee, until mum saw me. She said that I looked mischeivious, and reminded her of her friend Anne, who she always called Annie, hence my name. When I went to school, all the kids shortened it to Ann (which I hate), so we hyphenated it to Annie-Lee (which kids frequently shortened to Annie...). These days my signature still says Annie-Lee but I generally refer to myself as Annie.

Interesting tidbit is that I have two female cousins who also have Lee as a middle name (Diana and Michelle).

About my name from here:

Annie... )

That is freakily accurate.

Hey, I missed the Wednesday 100! Hey, roughly what time and day does it open for Aussies? I thought it was tonight, through to tomorrow night, but I must be way off the mark.

I'm not too upset. Barely have the concentration level to play spider solitaire and check on LJ, let alone write. (I'm having trouble even reading the drabbles... just too tired and headachey...)

Ha!

I am Sunday's Child

What day are you?

Oh, Charmed is on. I can't bring myself to get off the 'net, so I'll tape it, and leave it on in the background so I can keep an eye out for crazy!Cole. *g*

"Missed me by that much..." *g* I can't be the only one amused by the Get Smart reference.

Evil Cole is so much fun, and the blond shapeshifter is cute, in that slightly vacant way (as opposed to Phoebe, who's just annoying in that vacant way...).

And the outfits? *shudder* They make the BtVS choices look like the height of fashion!

"Did you hear?"

"Did you hear?"

The rumours went around the school quickly. Miki timed it. Within 53.12 minutes, the senior class knew all about the new student.

His first day, he joined the fencing club.

Two days later, he wore a Rose signet on his left hand.

When he attended the Student Council meeting, he spoke for precisely 4.46 minutes.

***

Finding himself the Victor, the new student ran a hand over his bald head and looked into the Rose Bride's green eyes.

"You're the Rose Bride?" was the first question he asked.

He smiled, "Actually, I'm the Rose Groom."

[livejournal.com profile] tboy, the resemblance is stronger when you see her actually acting, but this pic might give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

In the series, she's younger than that pic, and there is a stronger resemblance. Really...

More GO notes. I'm too tired to think enough to summarise, so it's got a lot of quotes... )

It's only because of LoTR that I now find Pepper's full name so amusing. Pippin Galadriel Moonchild, indeed! The first time I read the book, I didn't fully get the joke.

Also, when I first read it, I didn't pick up on the Them/Four Horsemen correlation. Obviously, Adam is Death, the ringleader. Pepper, always ready for a fight, a red-haired girl, is War. Brian is pollution, and there are mentions of him being constantly dirty, and empty chip packets that always appear around him. And that leaves Wensleydale, with his black rimmed glasses, as Famine.
