I'm feeling very proud of myself. Did the laundry (have yet to put it away though *g*) and even washed and aired my bed linen. Also broke the law and went shopping, in that order. (ie. I drove the car down to shop, regardless of the fact I have no license. I forgot how convenient it is to have a boot to pack heavy shopping into, as opposed to walking with it, or taking a trolley home. I'm going to have to get my license...)

Am currently cooking meals for this week - Beef Pesto and Apricot Chicken casserole (actually, it's more veggie casserole with the occasional glimpse of chicken, but that's okay). As I've only got one big pot, I need to wait for the casserole to cook before I can cook the pasta. I'm going to catch up on my friends list while I'm waiting.

Will tape "Man and Boy" tonight (Horatio Hornblower! Ioan Gruffudd!) and watch "Road Trip". yes, I know it's probably a shockingly stupid film, but it's the type of youth/college flick that appeals to me. Trust me, I've seen "Dude, Where's My Car?" about three times now, and loved it each time. *g*

I had the bad realisation watching SV again this morning, that I've lost my faith in the Clex. Seriously, I just can't see them ever being happy together.

I used to watch SV and resided firmly in the denial side of town. Of course Lex and Clark would end up happy together. Now, I can't help thinking just how unlikely it is that they will ever get together, and if they do, they're just going to end up inflicting major emotional damage on each other.

In other thoughts, watching Nocturne I couldn't help loving Lionel. I like the fact that they're playing it fairly ambiguous with his character. He could be the scheming, manipulating, selfish and inconsiderate bastard that Lex makes him out to be, or he could just be a fairly emotionally cold and cynical man who does love Lex dearly. At the moment, I'm almost convinced that Lionel isn't as bad as Lex believes, and that the producers are doing a good job in foreshadowing just how easily Lex can believe that people who care about him are out to destroy him. It would link well with future/canon Lex seeing himself as the hero protecting the world against the Alien.

You know Shanghai Knights (and Shanghai Noon)? I just saw an article on it that mentioned the writers/producers were Miller and Gough. These are the same guys who pretty much are TPTB on SV, aren't they? In that case, I'm going to have to complain that we don't see more Shanghai hijinks in SV. *pouts* I want the guys having naked pillowfights!

Considering my current lack of love for SV, and the fact that I was playing Kestral's vids, and longing for my days of Utena fandom... (Utena - it's got everything I want in a series. Pretty boys who are absolute sluts, crossdressing girls, surreal symbolism, fast cars, swordfights... Heh. Really, really enjoyed that series. *g*)

So, decided to try to track down the site that used to have the episodes available for download. It's no longer working. *grrr* And everytime I search for Utena downloads, I inevitably come to a link for the site, stating how wonderful it is.

I really like Utena as a series. And this is why... Kinda spoilerish for the series... )

*sigh* It's not only gorgeous, it's also filled with wonderfully fleshed out, psychologically explained characters. Plus, it's wonderfully surreal and symbolic. It's the type of series you can watch with friends and then actually discuss afterwards and try to work out what it actually meant. Without a doubt, it's my favourite anime series (and I will probably be pimping it until the end of time). And on that note, I'm going to bed.

Quick rec: Another Man's Treasure is a Saionji POV on Touga. A little dark, but certainly not outside the realms of the series.
