You know, I found one of the hottest scenes in QAFUS to be last week's flashback/memory of teenage Mikey and Brian almost getting it on. I can't help wondering how differently things would have turned out if Deb hadn't interrupted. Would Mikey have gotten over his crush/obsession regarding Brian? Or would he have turned out to be a slightly less "oomphy" version of Justin, just another guy following the Brian Kinney approach of screw 'em and leave 'em?

Of course, there's always my favourite theory that he would have been able to get through to Brian, and that just maybe, Brian would have still been young and impressionable enough to be influenced. Yep, I'm a Brian/Mikey fan. In this ideal world, Mikey would have realised that you can't expect to alway rely upon Brian to always have the answers (which he does - he doesn't expect Brian to have the right answers, but it's just assumed that Brian always knows what he wants and how to get it, and always has an opinion on everything). Mikey would have grown up a bit, become a little more mature and self-reliant, and stopped the constant clingy possession (ie. his mom, his friends, his room, etc). Ideally, Brian would be able to depend on him on occasion, and this might allow Brian to relax that stranglehold on control (get rid of that need to always have the upper hand and the ability to walk away).

So I'm just going to go do some work now, with the though of more confident, content characters: a mature!Mikey and vulnerable!Brian...

Guess who used work's 'net connection to download Utena episodes? And guess who spent lunchtime watching ep 1 & 2? And guess who may be humming the 'about to duel' theme song for the rest of the day. *g*

I forgot how much fun the series was. However, I hadn't forgotten how funky the music is (all that heavy sounding music and the chorus, and... *sigh* It's great.) And, I'm more forgiving of Saionji, because I'm sure that the main reason he acts like such a brute is to goad the others into dueling him.

Meanwhile, the fact that WRAP have Enya as waiting music just seems odd to me. It's enjoyable, but it just seems... strange.

Hmmm... Just reading an interesting article on gay and lesbian actors.

You know, I didn't know that Nigel Hawthorne was gay. I alos didn't know that he died in December, 2001. That thought's made me a little sad. It's a side effect of growing up watching "Yes Minister". I always liked Sir Humphrey so much.

But I'm cheered by the rumour that Clea DuVall is gay. *raowr* Doubt it's true, but such a nice thought...

Okay, [livejournal.com profile] baggers, I'm blaming you for wasting the last 30-60 minutes reading Sanity Please. Yeah, I deny all personal responsibility! How was I supposed to work, when I could sit and chuckle about the ridiculous claims of a PR conspiracy!

Now, I'm very amused, and need to pull a finger out to get my work done for this arvo...

Narmally, I don't notice how slow my 'net connection is at home. Generally, the only thing I download is a few music vids, and if I'm just looking at fics, the download time is pretty easily ignored.

Started downloading the first two Utena episodes. At work, it took 30 minutes. At home, it's going to take 13 hours! *sigh* At this rate, it'll take most of this week just to download them. (But the ep's look really good, so it'll all be worth it.)

All the same, the French film, "Why Not Me?" was very good. One pair of guys kissing, three pairs of girls. *g* Highly enjoyable.

*watching Rove Live* Dude, Rob Lowe is acting in a vampire flick? Did I hear that right?
