I'm back from Canberra. Slightly odd to come back to Melbourne and think of it as home. Canberra's still very familiar; I grew up there, my family lives there, but it's not home any more.

Weekend stuff )

Also, got to watch Animatrix. Dude, that rocked. Each story makes you think, and some are more uncomfortable than others, but they all work really well. My faves are 4 (great ending), 1 (because strip swordfighting should be an olympic sport *g*) and 8 (because I like the old fashioned feel of a 40's detective story). Wouldn't watch it with little kids, but highly enjoyable to watch.

Okay, I'm off to catch up on email and LJ.

I love all the people on my Friends List. Seriously, you guys rock and you crack me up. *g*

On the plane to Canberra I couldn't help mentally writing a SV fic. Does anyone else do this? You sit staring into space working out the exact phrasing, and then you get near paper and pen, and you can only remember vague details. *pouts* Not happy with my memory. (Although, I have WW fic to work on, but I'm not motivated at all tonight. *g*)

I'm still 75 posts behind on LJ...

Okay, I'm following [livejournal.com profile] weredonut's example:

Dear next-door neighbour,

No, I do not want to come over to see your new curtains. Likewise, I don't want to stand at my front door when it's cold and dark to tell you about my weekend.

I understand that Mum was friendly to you, but I never have been, so please don't try to start a friendship with me. First of all, we have nothing in common. I am a 21 year old bi girl, who works 9 - 5 in an accountancy firm, and enjoys spending her spare time online and reading slash. You are an unemployed 54 year old man (who's mother still keeps tab on) and seems to have very little to say.

If I am listening to music and ignoring the doorbell, it generally means that I don't want to speak to you. It is not an invitation to come over and pound on my bedroom window until you get a response.

Regards,
Annie.

PS - I know that it isn't your fault that you came around and then my computer crashed, but please understand that I had over twenty links open from the last 125 Friends posts, and I now need to go back through and remember which pages I wanted to come back and read.

You know, [livejournal.com profile] weredonut, that feels surprisingly good.

[livejournal.com profile] tboy, here's a GO fic, All Flesh is Grass. Be warned, angsty ending. I'm serious here.

Apparently, spelling is my big grammar peeve. Actually, that's pretty true. Internet slang can really bug me. quiz result )

And, here are the questions from [livejournal.com profile] jmtorres. They turned out to be longer answers than I expected. )

Wow. It seems that the only thing I like more than rambling about myself, is thinking and rambling about myself. *g*
