Hmmm... Well, this is a story that I started way back in February and have just left sitting. (It's the one that was meant to be Sam/Josh, but was pretending to be Josh/Donna. *g*) I'm trying to work out whether it's worth salvaging or better left to rot.

Basically, it was written when I had no idea of how Sam canonically left the show (we hadn't even started S4 over here) but it's actually not as AU as it seems. A couple of sentences here and there and it would kinda/almost fit most of S4. (Mind you, I still haven't seen all of S4, so I could be wrong.)

Unfortunately, I know that most of it is a direct emotional reaction of a Sam fan, so... It makes me question how good it is and if it's worth finishing. All the same, typing it up did make me remember why I was fond of it...

What do you guys think? Promising? Or better to write it off as an experiment?

Donna knows... )

Okay, going to bed. That is all.

Okay, I'm stuffing around. I need to out at lunch and do some banking, not sit around catching up on LJ.

Pluses for today: It's 1.30pm on a Friday, the boss has left early (taking his family skiing), the workflow on my desk looks manageable and may actually be done (gasp!)

Drawbacks: I got to sleep at 5.30am last night. Why?! Why is my sleeping pattern so totally screwed this week? Seriously, I only made it in this morning with bloody determination, a Lift Plus and a chocolate jam donut. I think I may need those again to be able to think this afternoon.

Fannishness: Hey, there aren't any WW/popslash crossovers, are there? I just want to read one. I have an urge for less-than-serious WW fic, and this way I'm reading popslash without really reading popslash. Hey, it makes sense to me.

Meanwhile, I did a brief word count last night, and realised that between my four WW WiPs, I have like 14,000 words. Okay, 9,000 of them belong to just one fic, but still, that's an impressive amount of stuffing around. I've found that I'm starting to think of them by the POV I'm using. Hence, we have 25!Josh, AU!Sam, Future!Donna and... actually, I think of the other one as the drunk!Sam one at the moment, but that's only because I've been stuck on that scene *cough*forweeksnow*cough*.

You know what? I really am spamtastic! *g*

Home time! It's home time! The rest of the office have already deserted and now I'm going too!

Okay, since I had 3 hours of sleep I've survived the day on two caffeine laden redbull type drinks (LiftPlus and V), so it's possible that I'm slightly overhyped on caffeine.

But you guys still love me, right? *winks*

ETA: Forgot to mention what this entry was for. To remind myself that I really want to read the rest of [livejournal.com profile] sinbrat's AU popslash/gothic romance. It's the type of fic that feels as if it requires a bit of good old fashioned swooning and lots of sweet nibbleys while reading. *g*

Hey, there's an English comedy on ABC right now. It's got the woman who plays Hooch, and the guy who plays Captain Pellew. *g*

Hee!

ETA: Dentistry jokes, religious one-liners and the reason why being your own dentist is a bad thing. *giggles* I'm going to watch that next Friday.

Okay, [livejournal.com profile] erilyn rocks. *bows down before her*

She sent me the link to Politics of Pop, the WW/Popslash crossover. It might just be the effect of lots of caffiene and very little sleep, but that fic had me laughing like a hyena. I think I may officially love Donna's slasher roommate. (And, we already know the roommate has cats. It's just a logical assumption she'd be a slasher too.)

And then I found that the author also wrote a Sam/Josh fic, What Good Men Do.

You know, sometimes I love fandom!

ETA: Actually, the fic title was Greener on the Other Side, not What Good Men Do. *g* Both titles would have worked, though.

Ooh, I know I already mentioned this (with the wrong title - go me!), but I'm still going to rec it. Greener on the Other Side is one of those wonderfully real fics that hurt, in the good way.

I once heard WW fandom described as a great fandom if you can get into the fun of wanting and not having. It's got a great array of fics where the characters really care about each other, where the chemistry is just bubbling beneath the surface, but the reality of the way the world works means that it'll never be anything more than an attraction.

This is a great example of that. The lines are in character, full of this amusing, touching dialogue, both Sam and Josh get a chance of telling their own POV and personally, I loved the style of the piece. It's unusual, but it makes the story feel well-rounded, and gives the ending a nice, uplifting note, even though you know these boys will be hurt and disillusioned.

*happy sigh* These are the WW stories I love. Well, these and the ridiculously hopeful ones where they end up happy. (I'm allowed to be contrary.)

Fuck!

Just wrote a rather long feedback email and hotmail wouldn't send it. So, I go back a page, and the message is gone! I'm tired, and I couldn't be bothered writing it out again.

This really sucks. Not only is my mail screwing around, but there's a fic author who now won't get a good bit of fb, they'll just get, "I really liked this". *grrrrr*
