How much do you think Abby charges for a session? $90 or $175? Dan mentions that he pays her $700 per month (Youch. That's my rent when I'm living alone in a two bedroom place.) and I'm trying to work out if he sees her once or twice a week.

I remember Abby's walls as being a funky dark orange. Am I right, or have I totally lost it?

I'm trying to write a fic that features quite a bit of Abby and Dan talking (in my head, it's been dubbed the Therapy fic), and I'm uncertain. All I know of therapists, I've learned from TV. (Okay, well I've seen a therapist like... three times in uni, but that was mainly to get special consideration on my results after my granddad died mid-semester. It was required, and it wasn't an ongoing thing by any means.)

Hence, I'm writing a fic, and I *think* I've got Abby's voice right, but I'm not sure if she's being too personal or not professional enough. Of course, it would help if this wasn't all armchair psychology, if I was researching this stuff a little, but instead, I'm flying by the seat of my pants.

Okay, yes, it's bad when a post vaguely related to a fandom refers to a fic in the subject line. But, I'm bored. I'm... lackluster. I can barely be bothered using capitals.

(heh. i'm not going to.)

should i know tom waits? seriously, is this a singer i should know? i'm checking my memory and it's coming up empty. i don't know him.

(Oh man, even when I'm the one eschewing the shift key, it still annoys the hell out of me. Back to capitals, people.)

The only reason I'm even curious about Tom Waits is Dan. The adorable way he almost cries when he's told he can't see Tom Waits play.

So, has Tom Waits sung anything famous? Anything I'd recognise? If not, any recommendations? I might see if I can download some music later this week.

I want to know what all the fuss is about.

I want to find a Tom Waits album, and play it over and over again until I finish a Danny fic.

Yes. I have chosen to be impractical and wistful today.

I'd stop by at Newport library and borrow their Tom Waits CD (Blue Valentine, from 1978), but it's closed by now. Instead, I'll try to stop by my library (*insert thankful prayer that Altona library opens until 8pm Mon-Thurs*) and see if I can reserve it.

Okay, I was going to send off an email (for work), but I'm tired and want to go home. ETA2: Stayed back and sent the email. Am now going home at 6.20pm.

ETA: Now I'm grinning because a client in Japan, who I've been hounding for months to send the forms back, just emailed me a reply apologising for being so busy and promising to get on to the forms.

Okay. Going home now. *g*

I know Tom Waits!

He's the guy who sings "I'm big in Japan". Man, I *loved* that song!

Okay, going to watch Hornblower now.
