out_there: B-Day Present '05 (Casey! (by Saava))
I have just realised that the last five new icons that I've added, have been Casey. (Or, in the case of the Comforting icon, mainly Casey, with a little Dan.) Heh. I think my lust is starting to show. *g*

Stayed up tonight talking to [livejournal.com profile] shellah (And can I point out she is a total chatterbox? Seriously, she starts talking and you can barely get a word in edgewise. ...Or, maybe that's me. *g*) and fixing up icons and fics to post.

First of all, we have a lusty icon from the Casey wallpaper I made. Possibly the caption won't amuse anyone other than me, but it's been my defense for drooling over PK pictures lately.

The other one is from the picture I posted earlier tonight, because if he's going to look that sexy and yearning, I need to have an icon. The full quote is "But over all things brooding slept/ The quiet sense of something lost." (Lord Alfred Tennyson).

On the written side of things, I posted two SN fics to [livejournal.com profile] inthetallgrass. In this corner, we have From Wishin' You Were Here, a post-S2 bit of Dan moping, inspired by Kasey Chambers' sad country song, A Million Tears. And in this corner, we have a piece of happy smut inspired by Tom Waits' CD, Blood Money (I'm all about the music tonight), A Good Man....

(The most amusing thing about this? My SN longfic (the therapy one) is currently shorter than the smut. *g*)

Oops! Nearly posted this in the wrong journal... *g*

Off work sick again. Watched videos this morning.

Ghost World struck me as very femslashy, despite the very het text, and I'm just... not sure about it. I mean, Steve Buscemi was excellent, Thora Birch and Scarlett Johannson (sp?) were really good too, and the bus metaphor was fun, but... A good film to watch once, not sure if I'd watch it twice.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was fun. I didn't even know Joey was in it, until I spotted his name on the opening credits. He was cute in it, but seriously overshadowed by John Corbett. Then again, most actors are. (I'm positive I'm not the only Northern Exposure fan who ended up with a bit of a crush on Chris. *g*)

*sigh* Cooked Beef Stroganoff, but forgot the rice. Have decided to eat it without the rice, since I couldn't be bothered cooking more. Should sleep, but I'm not really tired.

*deep breath*

I'm being freaked out by my FList. Or, more specifically, the number of people who have added me. I mean, it's just as well I don't normally check on this, because, yes, it freaks me out. I mean, my current FList is 59. (Which is really a tad big. I don't have the heart to chuck anyone off, so instead, I'm just not adding people. In turn, this makes me feel... kinda rude about not friending back. But I can't. I'll have no time, and... I'll end up just skimming or avoiding LJ.)

I just realised that 27 have added me to their lists since November. 27!!! (I'd like to point out to everyone that, yes, my LJ really is this boring normally. If you're just here for the fic, I post all the finished Sorkin stuff to [livejournal.com profile] sn100 and [livejournal.com profile] inthetallgrass, so you're really not missing anything if you're on those LJs.)

I'm going to stop thinking about this now. I have promised six fics and I shall deliver. (Taxfic challenge, Te's pollen sex challenge, the flight challenge, Jenn's QaF fic, Signe's birthday fic, and Shelley's longfic.) If I'm going to sit here and panic, we'll at least make it panicking about something useful.

Oh, before I forget, [livejournal.com profile] rosenho posted an interesting little tidbit on her Fraud Muse, that little voice in the back of your head that makes you doubt your fannish abilities. I just realised that mine is Adam Brody.

Go me!

Wrote the Flight challenge fic. *g* (And it's over the 1000 word minimum.) Only took me 3.5 hours... (Heh. Have a look at the icon. Can you guess which pairing it was? *g*)

Am sending off for beta, and then, am going to restart the computer and see if I can get those MR clips Shelley sent me to play. *g*

GIP!

First GIP is for me, because I keep bitching to myself that I don't have a popslash icon. Not that I read a lot of popslash, but I want a semi-appropriate icon when I do. (Plus, it breaks up my Casey kink.) Lyrics are from "Totally addicted to bass", because I'm amused by bad puns.

Second one is for this week's [livejournal.com profile] wwcontest submission. Lyrics come from Lifehouse's Sick Cycle Carousel.

My effort last week was... pretty sucky, and I am ridiculously pleased with this icon. I mean, yeah, ridiculously so. I like the effect; I like the legibility of the text; I like the heightened contrast/colous; I like the odd border thingy I played around with. I am so very pleased with it.

ExpandCut for Graphic sensitive friends lists... )

Meanwhile, [livejournal.com profile] khohen1 has organised a new SN archive. Which is a big yay since the last posting board was awkward and hated me, and the old SN archive doesn't seem to be reviving any time soon. (I will need to work out how to upload my fics on there... maybe this weekend.)

Of course, this led to me quickly looking around at fics and rereading Flora and Fauna and Bob. I love that fic. It's so... you know, it's got this great combination of witty dialogue and I love the interraction between Casey and Dan. It's supportive friendship, and inside jokes, and screwing with someone else's head just because you can. It's sweet and lovely, and always makes me laugh out loud.

"You're just...Dan with men."

He smiled. "Well, technically, Dan with men and women."

This stopped Casey for a minute. "Really?" Dan nodded, and Casey grinned. "Because you are a man of many talents."

"I am, indeed."

Tenth Inning is a silly and fun Smallville/Sports Night crossover. It's what happens when Jeremy gets sent into the middle of Kansas to check on a potential baseball story.

"I like 'Sports Night.'" Lex nodded thoughtfully. "It's...intelligent, for a sports show. I appreciate your coverage of the Sharks; you've been very fair - though my father wishes Dan would stop referring to them as 'the king of the jungle's pawns of the sea.'"

"Dan and Casey write their own scripts," Jeremy said with a shrug. "Once Dan latches onto a bad pun like that, he'll run it right through the ground."
