I'm being freaked out by my FList. Or, more specifically, the number of people who have added me. I mean, it's just as well I don't normally check on this, because, yes, it freaks me out. I mean, my current FList is 59. (Which is really a tad big. I don't have the heart to chuck anyone off, so instead, I'm just not adding people. In turn, this makes me feel... kinda rude about not friending back. But I can't. I'll have no time, and... I'll end up just skimming or avoiding LJ.)
I just realised that 27 have added me to their lists since November. 27!!! (I'd like to point out to everyone that, yes, my LJ really is this boring normally. sn100 and inthetallgrass, so you're really not missing anything if you're on those LJs.)
I'm going to stop thinking about this now. I have promised six fics and I shall deliver. (Taxfic challenge, Te's pollen sex challenge, the flight challenge, Jenn's QaF fic, Signe's birthday fic, and Shelley's longfic.) If I'm going to sit here and panic, we'll at least make it panicking about something useful.

rosenho posted an interesting little tidbit on her Fraud Muse, that little voice in the back of your head that makes you doubt your fannish abilities. I just realised that mine is Adam Brody.

Date: 2004-02-10 09:52 pm (UTC)The only worry I have when someone new friends me is wondering if they *really* want me to friend them back. Because if I don't? They'll get to see all my fic, plus the occasional purely fandom-related post that I make public. Everything else is locked.
If I *do* friend them back, then they're subjected to whatever randomness I happen to post on a daily basis. But since my LJ is locked, they won't really know this in advance...it's a quandary. But so far every time someone has friended me and I've asked them, they want to be friended back. *shrugs*

I just... like keeping my friendslist down relatively small. I like *knowing* the people on my FList. It bugs me now that there's some people on there that... you know, I can't remember just why I originally added them. I have no idea what fandoms we have in common.
Some people I barely have common fandoms with, and yet, they're groovy for other reasons. Some are great at writing fic in SN, or SV, or WW.
I just hate the idea that I'll add people and then won't get time to keep up with them or get to know them.
Although, on the other hand, the amount of stuff I friendslock is *very* small. It tends to be the occasional "Woe is me, I'm going to bitch about everything I can think of" type of post. Sometimes, it's the "squeee! Such a (RL) crush on her..." post, but, not so much these days. Hence, you don't need to be on my FList to be bored brainless by me.
If you just want the fic, stick to sn100 and inthetallgrass. *g*
