Me to Mum this morning: "Just sit down and watch the lesbians."

(We both woke up early and decided to watch the tape of L-Word from last night.)

ETA: GIP! By oxoniensis. I don't care if she says it's cheesy, it makes me smile. It's the hug, and it's cute, and it's... it has just become my Clex-denial icon. (Are Clark and Lex fighting? Nope. See this icon - I *know* they're in love.)

I missed the 7.40am train, and the 8am was cancelled, so Mum offered to drive me. Even though we got the wrong exit off the West Gate Highway and had to make an illegal U-turn, she still got me here right on the dot of 9am. *grins*

We've both been in a really good mood this morning. Might have something to do with the early night. We both went to bed at 9pm (even though I didn't fall asleep until about 10pm, it's early for me). Then, we watched the L-Word.

As I was getting out of the car today, Mum said that my eyes were sparkling, and that I was a very pretty girl. (Today, I'm made up and I actually do look pretty good. *g*)

Mum: Do you know how proud that makes me? Both of my children are very good looking.
Me: Fair enough.
Mum: Regardless of how much [Mum's sister] tries to show off that her girls are gorgeous and dating, or that one of them's a model, she knows that they can't compete. I'm really lucky. I look at other people's kids and I think that they're ugly.
Me (sniggering): Yeah, those are four words that always make you feel better. "Your kids are ugly."

It's the Thursday before Good Friday (and the blessed long weekend), and I'm in a good mood. I figure I'm going to capitalise on these good vibes by pointing out other things that make me feel good.

oxoniensis's generousity with her time, icons and caps. Her ability to make words and pictures simply beautiful.

elke_tanzer's passion for fandom. Her genuine offers to help other fen when they get screwed over (by being publicly outed, or fannishly plagerised). She's always there with helpful links and support.

celli's enthusiasm. Her ability to be absolutely adorable as she squees over shows I've never watched. Her appreciation of Josh Charles' arms.

phoebesmum's Protestant work ethic. Her ability to cheer me on to write more, and make me not feel too bad about the work piling up.

shellah's encouragement to write. Her appreciation of Peter Kruase, even if she doesn't love the floppy hairstyles.

happyminion's love of TV shows. Her happy pimping of L-Word was what made me watch it in the first place.

scrunchy's understanding of the appeal of necks. I can't explain it, I won't even try.

laylee's llamas. If I need something to pick me up, I think about Danny, Casey, Babette and Ceazar, and grin. (Also, she lent me the Semi-Naked Gay Josh Charles film, so I have to love her for that.)

I got a new clients name from her investment statement, but it was misspelt. It's not Anna, it's Anja.

My first reaction? Anya!!! (And, beware of the bunnies... *giggles*)

Pointless Photo Poll

Anyway, it occurs to me that I have a couple of photos that were taken of me on the cruise. They're fairly flattering, and I keep meaning to take them into work and scan them during lunchtime.

However, I'm not sure if its worth bothering. I mean, are any of you dying with curiousity to see me? *snorts* I doubt it. Hence, the poll.
