Meme, nicked from

I'm sure that as soon as I post this, I'll think of other favourite characters. Oh well. Tough.
1. Name your ten favourite fictional characters of all time and what book, movie or tv show they came from. (in no real order)
1) Sam Seaborn [the west wing]
2) CJ Creig [the west wing]
3) Matilda [Matilda by Roald Dahl]
4) Granny Weatherwax [Discworld series by Terry Pratchett]
5) Wesley Wyndham-Pryce [Angel]
6) Rupert Giles [Buffy the Vampire Slayer]
7) Steerpike [Gormenghast books/mini-series]
8) Lex Luthor [SV, films and L&C; not comic-canon but only because I don't know him well enough]
9) Aeryn [Farscape]
10) Nakago [Fushigi Yuugi]
2. Name five fictional characters that you would like to have an affair with and/or marry, plus the source. You may disregard any pre-existing attachments for these characters. (in no real order)
Well, I'm thinking on the level of affairs, really.
1) Aeryn [Farscape]
2) Sam Seaborn [the west wing]
3) Ainsley Hayes [the west wing]
4) RedK Clark [Smallville because...humina! *drools*]
5) Hmmmm... early!Cordelia [Buffy the Vampire Slayer]
3. Name five fictional works that you would like to live in.
I'm thinking...
1) Discworld (Terry Pratchett's fantasy series... especially if I could be a guy and a wizard student. That's a kinda easy life.)
You know, there just aren't many fictional worlds I’d want to live in. Sure, I love to read/watch them, but personally, I like my life too much to just hand it over.
4. What classic/critically acclaimed work(s) of literature do you fully appreciate the artistic merits of but hate nonetheless?
Rebecca. God, the first chapter alone. It's a cure for insomnia, I tell you. Even though the book itself is a good story, well-written, etc.
Charles Dicken's stuff. I enjoy any of the televised versions, and I like the stories, but his style of writing is painfully descriptive.
I'm tempted to say the same for Gormenghast, but with a lot of effort, I eventually got myself into the book. Still not as enjoyable as the mini-series, though.
5. Name five books that you would recommend I read. (in the comments)
Or, let's make it easy, five series/movies I should see, since I just don't read that much these days.

Date: 2003-09-29 03:46 pm (UTC)I think you've pimped Ultraviolet to me before. If it wasn't you, that's two rec's, so I'm going to have to get around to seeing it.
Sometime.
