*squee* Just checked out Slod's and Jess's Audioblog stuff. Officially, hearing fen read their own fic? Rocks! Absolutely rocks!
However, they both sounded so... American. *laughs at self* Yes, I know they are American (or Canadian, in Jess's case) but inside my mind, they sound more like... me. Yes, that's right. You may live in America, Canada, England or even Isreal, and i still imagine you with a slight Aussie accent. I'm a dill.
Mind you, I want to hear
happyminion. Unfortunately for her (or fortunately, depending on how you see it), I always mentally picture her with Emily Proctor's accent (she's Ainsley Hayes from West Wing and is the blonde on CSI: Miami). I'm sure that's highly incorrect, but it's true.

Date: 2003-10-31 06:17 pm (UTC)Do you know if there's an Australian version of audblog? I know some people are recording themselves with MS Sound Recorder, but is there another way if you're not technologically apt in any way? :P

Date: 2003-10-31 06:51 pm (UTC)But to me, you just sound a little less American than Slod. Mind you, I have no idea where abouts in the states Slod is from...

Date: 2003-11-01 12:08 am (UTC)And I'm from Indiana (same as MR!), which is a little right of the center, still technically in the "midwest". We're nicer here. *g*

I hope you figure out a way, because I'd love to hear your voice...
Mmmm... I have an aussie accent, but it's kinda light, because Dad's English, and mum's parents are Scottish (but worked in the British embassy, so they sound English too).
How did you guys do it? Did you need a microphone? *curious*

Date: 2003-11-01 01:04 am (UTC)I used the sound recorder that came with Windows, and a cheap little microphone that I have. Then I just uploaded it to my webspace. *g*

Date: 2003-11-01 03:31 am (UTC)Okay, that's better.
Hmmmm... Yes, the microphone and uploading it sounds like the best idea. Just means I need to get some cash together for the microphone. At the moment, buying a new virus software is the higher priority... *wishes she got paid more*

Date: 2003-10-31 07:36 pm (UTC)I don't sound like Ainsley, my accent's not that strong. And she's much cuter than me and talks a little slower. I talk fast. Aquarian brain makes me. *nods*

Date: 2003-10-31 07:55 pm (UTC)Well, she's seriously adorable, so it's kinda hard to beat that. *bg* Yeah, okay, I have a slight fictional crushlet on her, and Donna... and *everyone* has a thing for CJ...
What was I talking about again...? *g*
So, Wendi has a slight southern accent, and talks fast.
Damn, I wish I had more of a audible imagination. I just... I can sing, I can hold a tune, but I don't have the kind of ears that can discern a lot. (For instance, if I'm trying to work out who's voice is lower in a pairing, I literally have to listen to bits of dialogue again and again for ten minutes to compare them... and most of the time I still can't figure it.)
Aquarian brain makes me.
Intriguing excuse. We're just quick talkers (and fairly loud, too) on Mum's side of the family. She says it's a Scottish thing, and when she went over there to visit her relatives, that a lot of the people spoke far faster than our family does. I think it's just something that you pick up...
