out_thereWell, went down to the local RSL club for Melbourne Cup day lunch. We had lunch, ad it came with 4 free drinks, so we got fairly plastered on cheap white wine and orange juice. (Okay, I got really plastered. Mum managed to stay social and talkative with the people around her, and I just got really drunk.)
We went in the $5 sweeps for the race, and Mum ended up winning $70. (Yay!) We celebrated this by having a Cowboy each and another drink (Midori & lemonade for me, Tia Maria & lemonade for her). Then, we walked (swayed) home, had a drink of coke and scotch, and sunbaked out the back for a few hours.
At 6pm, we came in, had painkiller and had a nap. She's still snoring, so I decided to come online. Still feel a bit drunk, and I seem to have caught the sun a little on my face, but no real damage. Now, to catch up on LJ. *g*
