out_there: B-Day Present '05 (Christmas Dan/Casey (by Ahab99))

Well, I finally got [livejournal.com profile] ahab99's icon up. Isn't it perfect? You have no idea how much I literally cackled and clapped my hands in joy when I saw it.

Casey and Dan in red and green! Slashy carol lyrics! There's no way I could be happier. *g*

While I'm showing off Chrissy gifts, I also got my WW SS gifts:

The Sports Night stories you told me about were wonderful, by the way. I loved Being an anchor. It's just... wow.

*nods* Yes, I agree completely. It's one of those stories that just totally grabs you emotionally, and takes you along for the whole ride. The type where you believe in this Dan and Casey, right from the first few paragraphs, and that you don't stop believing until you finish the fic.

The type where you don't even question the idea that Gordon's a Class A bastard, but there's nothing I've seen in canon (which is part of S1 & S2, not all of it) to suggest that he's a possible rapist, until a day or so after you've read it.

It's a great fic. I'm not big into re-reading fic (or books), but that's a fic that can be read over and over, and it works everytime. (Or, for a quick fix, you can just skim to the favourite scenes, and enjoy those... one of my faves is Casey confronting Dan about being a prior patient... )

I was reading it on the train, and I think the other passengers thought I was very weird. At times I gasped, and really had to stop myself from exclaiming 'What the-?'. It was some rollercoaster ride, emotionally.

It's as you say, you believe in this Dan and Casey from the first few paragraphs. And I can see myself re-reading it over and over. I don't have a favourite scene yet, but the one you mentioned really is very good.

I nearly died when Gordon came back at the end. I started chewing my fingernails again.

Hee! Love the icon.

(Friended you, because I kept on going back to your LJ to check up on your fic, and just figured it'd be easier this way. So, hi. *g*)

Hee! Love the icon.

Me too! *hugs new icon*

Although, I have to say, your icon made me giggle in delight, too. There's something so right about SN christmas icons!

Hiya! Welcome to the spamtastic journal. I should probably warn you that there's far more randomness and bitching than fic, but I guess you've noticed that already! *g*

There can never be too many SN Christmas icons. Especially considering the abundance of the word "gay" in Christmas carols. *g*

Well, my LJ was originally supposed to be for fic and in-depth fandom analysis type stuff, but.... *looks at the way her LJ turned out, and laughs hysterically*
