And, for something not at all connected to Shattered, I present Signe's SV fic, A Conspiracy of Love. You know there are some fics that just hit the perfect note, and leave you smiling and happily sighing into your screen? This is one of them.

For another rec, Fear and Loathing in Lawndale is a Daria/Jane fic that *rocks*. It totally captures the *feel* and the characters of the show. Wonderful.

In heaven there is neither marrying nor giving in marriage. Quantum Leap fic that just *hurts*. Oh man, so damn good. *sniffles*

It Was a Very Good Year is a DS fic, a het DS fic, that I *love*. Seriously, I would be perfectly happy to marry this fic and have it's literate little babies. Frannie/Turnbull and a wonderfully happy ending.

I still haven't caught up on happyminion's LJ. This is partly because she seems to have been a very busy gal while I was away, and it's filled with pics and fics. This is also because the new series seems to feature Gotham as the setting, and you know, I'm just not up to believing Bruce is straight at the moment.*

Blame it all on thete1. She's been writing quite a few slashy Bats fics over the past few weeks (months?). Her Batman may be really screwed up, (Issues, man. Big, honkin' Issues) but he's got a wonderfully dry sense of humour (hence my choice of icon for this post... *g*) and you know, he's just damn *hot*. Now, my knowledge of Bats is mainly from the cartoon series (I'm a great believer in cartoon series), but he's always been damn hot. Mmmm...

Yet, at the moment? Just not picturing him as straight. Hence, I'd rather wait for a while and read the new series later, when I'll appreciate it more. Plus, I'd better stop this entry before I accidentally kill a sentence with my overuse of parenthesis.

ETA: *In the pure sake of clarity, Wendi has pointed out that I don't know there's no slash in the new series. I was just making wild and tired assumptions.

Fine. No-one said there wasn't slash.

I just skimmed the pics of Bats with Lois and Catwoman (Selina? Tell me I'm remembering my Batlore correctly?)... And, I just assumed?

Okay, I suck. But, I still think that a big series-fic deserves more attention than it's gonna get at... 1.30am.

Hell, at the moment, I don't quite have the attention span to read the Mxy conclusion, and you know how desperately I want to read that.

Well, as I've said before, the stories go nowhere, and it's probably just as well that you don't read it, because Selina is very much a part of the story. But I probably won't be writing more of it for a long time, if at all, since it's *supposed* to be a het triangle and all I have circling in my head is slash, slash, slash from Dick/Bruce. So yeah, avoid or whatever. I'm not doing that to Lois Lane *twice*, you know?

And Mxy awaits you. Patiently. He's a god, he's not going anywhere.

I'm not trying to send the negative vibes towards your creativity, Wendi. I'm just too tired, and too slash focused, to do it justice. I mean, it's at the stage where I'm not even Dick/Bruce focused, so much as Bruce/anyone.

Seriously. I've read Bruce/Dick, Bruce/Terry, Bruce/Clark, Bruce/Wally... hmmm... and Bruce/Lex in SV. Heh. It's a wonder I ever thought of him as straight...

Then again, I used to watch the old Batman TV series every afternoon, and that's campy as hell.

And right now, I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can duck for cover. There's just something about picturing Mxy and patience, that just doesn't quite go together.
