I am awake. I am awake. I am awake. If I keep repeating this to myself it might come true. *yawns*

Watched the L-Word last night and am filled with love for the show. My favourite is the tennis player (Dana? Is her name seriously *Dana*?), but I like the others a lot too. (Don't like Jenny and don't really like the girl going after her, and sometimes I'm a little lukewarm about Tina, but generally, there's quite a few characters I love.)

I'm so disappointed there wasn't a stack of emails waiting for me this morning. On the other hand, boss is in today and I do need to work, so I can't bitch.

"Circles and Roundabouts". This may be the title for the Homophobic wip. I'm wondering if Americans use either of those terms... (With my luck, probably not. *g*) Am writing it by hand. My writing's pretty large, so it's only about 200 words a page, but the next bit is eight pages so far. (And no slash. It's just Dana and Casey, and Lisa and Casey, and... Huh. How the hell did I reduce a very slashy idea to the level of UST seen onscreen?)

Ooops, sorry, didn't comment on homophobic WIP - enjoyed it very much, in spite of or possibly because some of it covers the same ground as my as-yet unwritten (probably never will be, the way I work) FIC O' DOOM, only does it better. And I meant to ask last time you posted a bit, is the rest of it accessible somewhere? Cos I went trawling through your LJ, in my nosy and voyeuristic way, but I couldn't find the first bit I remember reading.

There, that was all quite disordered and rambling, so should take you a while to unravel. I, meanwhile, have to go to bed, it's quarter to one and I've spun this flu (I'm calling it flu) out for as long as I think I reasonably can, I have to show my face at work tomorrow. (Grump. Still. It's Friday.) Have spent most of the evening writing, not the Homeless Teenage Junkie Hooker story but, if you can credit it, something even worse, so am undoubtedly destined for fandom hell. Eh well, think of the company I'll be in!

It's just me bitching because it's Friday and... I have *ideas* for the Homophobic fic. I have ideas, and sections of dialogue, and scenes that I want to write for it, but damn, I don't have enough time. (ie. Boss is back.)

And I meant to ask last time you posted a bit, is the rest of it accessible somewhere? Cos I went trawling through your LJ, in my nosy and voyeuristic way, but I couldn't find the first bit I remember reading.

Um, no. *hangs head in shame* I just post the bits I write from work so I can cut&paste them into the word doc at home.

Let's see. There's yesterday's online... there's also a section from a little bit before that (http://www.livejournal.com/users/out_there/414416.html)... and the start was posted way back in January (http://www.livejournal.com/users/out_there/332663.html). (Huh. I've actually added a couple of scenes in between those early ones...)

I'll try to post the rest of the wip on the weekend. The only reason I didn't was because I wasn't sure where it was going or if it was going to be finished. As I said, I suddenly have *ideas* so I shouldn't be as ashamed/wary of posting it now. *nods*

Ooooh! It's so wrong that I'm excited by a fic that will lead to your doom. *g*

Well, technically we don't use roundabouts, no. I mean, I think everyone knows the word, but the word I grew up using was "rotary." It's definitely not as cool a word as roundabout, unfortunately... :(

Is circle just another word for roundabout?

Rotary? *raises eyebrows* That's kinda a boring word. Makes me think of farm equipment...

Is circle just another word for roundabout?

In Australia, those are the two words I hear a lot (New South Wales/Canberra tend to say roundabouts, and Victoria/Melbourne say circles). We are talking about the same thing, right? When the road turns into a circle, with a couple of exits around it (instead of using traffic lights for an intersection)?
