100 Clexy drabble...
Mar. 7th, 2003 01:07 pmThis is too much fun to resist. And a good deal harder than I realised. For my vote, I think that the Wednesday 100 would be fun, although I doubt that mine would actually be in on the Wednesday... (Transatlantic time difference, y'know. *g*)

Clark discovered that growing up was something that happened when you didn't notice.
It was getting up early for chores because they needed to be done, and realising that you can't play truant from work just because you want to. It was acknowledging that people grow apart, and letting things end quietly, without angry screaming matches and recriminations.
It was in the card sitting on his desk, asking, "Can I have another chance?" and in the phone call that followed.
It was in the gentle smile that Lex offered him that night, and in the warm arms that held him.

Date: 2003-03-06 07:26 pm (UTC)Quite a glowing compliment coming from the chick that reminds me that settling down and having kids doesn't mean the end of romance and smut.

Date: 2003-03-09 10:34 pm (UTC)At the moment, the only grown up stuff I'm dealing with is the newish job, and if all goes to plan, eventually it'll be funding the fangirly activities.

Date: 2003-03-06 07:25 pm (UTC)It's what fanfics were made for. To distract us from work, and leave us smiling over our computers and accounts, (or mail out flyers, or whatever...)

Date: 2003-03-06 11:18 pm (UTC)These drabbles are great for producing that reaction. It's all of the love and sweetness, without having to read more than 100 words. It's going to spoil me for actually reading normal-sized fics.

Date: 2003-03-09 10:22 pm (UTC)Yeah, I like the idea that just maybe, the pair of them wouldn't revert to name-calling, and the pettiness that happens in real fights. *g*
Thanks for bringing the best tears to my eyes.
*Hands Alee a tissue* Aw, thanks! Just remember it's Clark and Lex. They're meant to have a happy ever after ending.
*Kicks comic canon under bed* (Out of sight, out of mind, right?)
