Askewniverse Rec: "Phone Call"
Apr. 11th, 2005 06:39 pm"Phone Call" by
cadetdru *rocks*. Majorly.
It's a short fic, a conversation between Banky and Randel, and it works so well I can't believe it. I have a total love of Banky -- total, utter and bordering on psychotic love for the guy -- and this fic completely nails his voice. (And Randel's, too.)
Any fic that makes me want to stop and re-read it aloud -- just so I can hear the lines being said -- is pretty damn good.
(Somehow, it feels almost wrong that the rec for this fic doesn't include any actual swear-words.)
ETA: I picked this icon for the laid-back-reading thing Dan has going on. But now, I suddenly have the mental image of Dan watching Askewniverse movies and chortling just the way I do.

I adore the idea of Banky/Hooper and I love Kevin Smith for making it canon.), the fic's well worth the read. Especially for the phrase "a metric fuck-ton of issues".
I'm oddly sad that there is no way known to man that I could ever use that line in a SN fic.

Hee. Yes, he would. Casey, on the other hand? Would probably secretly love it, but not want to admit to it.
