Some people suck...
Jun. 3rd, 2003 12:05 pmGot home, ate, watched an episode of WW and slept. I slept from 8pm to 6am and still woke up tired. Being sick sucks.
Work has been less than great. Ate scrambled eggs with garlic, and they've been making me feel nauseous all morning (What's really wonderful is that one of the partners was v. generous and brought in a chocolate cake for the staff, and I'm not game to try it.) I also missed the train and therefore arrived at work five minutes late for a meeting that I had to sit in on.
Plus, I called a client's insurer's yesterday to confirm that the paperwork would be ready by noon today, and found out that the insurer sent a cranky email to the client saying that I'd "bullied" them and tried to "blackmail" them into giving me confidential information (after they stated that couldn't give it to me because of the Privacy Act). This really bugs me because a) it's untrue and b) it's untrue. (To quote Kryton: It's such a vital point I felt it needed to be made twice.)
This email led to the client emailing one of the partners to complain about my supposed behaviour. The partner concerned asked me, and believed my story, as did my boss, so I'm not really concerned about my job. Just PO'ed that someone would lie so blatently. (However, as someone pointed out to me, I will easily admit that the guy sounded stressed when I talked to him yesterday, so it's probably just a case of he completely misunderstood what I was saying, not that he was purposely being vindictive as hell.)
Still, if that lease doesn't settle today, you won't see me crying over it.
Yes, being sick does make me a little cranky. How could you tell?
