I love my shows

The Bill got sacrificed for bath time. It was worth it to just lie there and drift off. Did I miss anything particularly slashy?

I did, however, catch Crossing Jordan and West Wing. (It had the little bonding "your gonna lose" speech from Toby, which I so enjoyed. Hey, US fans, will I be seeing Sam again this season, or is that it?)

I really enjoy those two shows. I have favourite quotes from each, which just made me laugh. I loved Toby's comment to Sam "You feel qualified to give the seminar on Call Girl Caution?", and I also liked Nigel and Bug talking about the idea of Jordan being gay:
Bug: "But she's had boyfriends."
Nigel: "The phrase is bisexual, love."
Bug: "Never say the words 'bisexual love' to me again."

So very quiet

Most of the accounting staff are out at an annual seminar. This means that at the moment, there's five people in the office, instead of the poosible twenty-five. The bosses are out (although, they have promised to be back soon *sigh*) and it's delightfully quiet.

Now, if I just get some work done, it'll be good. At the moment, the last two hours have been spent online not accomplishing much other than catching up on LJ.

I'm starting to think that Genie's right about the Zone. You have to be in the Zone to write fics. When you are, they come easily. When you're not, you try and try, but it just doesn't work. What I need to do is figure out how to get myself into the Zone...

Well, after stuffing around until about 11am, the boss got me to work on analysing a company's statement of accounts with him. In reality, this means I sit opposite him, adding up numbers with my calculator and calling them out. No doubt about it, accountancy is a glamourous job. *wink*

I've been a little carried away by working out the numbers and we're still doing it.

Man, I'm hungry. Wonder when we'll stop for lunch...

There are times when you suddenly realise how much your LJ friends have effected you. I had one of these moments reading the TWoP WW recap.

Rob Lowe's hair is just way too long here. It's sort of flipping up at the back of his neck, above his collar. It's also really flat. If he had some horn-rimmed glasses and an ironic thrift-shop t-shirt, he could be in Sloan or something.

Thanks to dammitcarl, I actually have an idea who Sloan are. Or, at least know that they're indie enough for that look. *g*
